Roth IRA 2. CD's 3. Savings 4. Stocks 5. Gambling Each of the 5 can take your money and possibly earn more money. How do you save money when making $100,000+ a year? As in, how do you save more of this money from being eaten by taxes? Usually people talk about investments, but I am not invested in anything at this time. (One point I do know is that everything you earn is taxed. Income is taxed. So the money you would invest is already taxed...once it is invested and starts to accumulate income, based on it's interest %, you are taxed on that again.... yay taxes). This point is besides the point, but just illustrating. In short, just looking ahead so that when I do earn more income, how do I be smart and save as much money as possible from taxes? Anyhow, my girlfriend and I have upgraded the home, she's back in school for her masters, and we just find money a little tighter these days. She's suggested that I try to find a young child who loves cats and give them to the child so we can save money. The conversion kits that i had my car being converted is Tartarini from Italy. Just spend a little money and save more for the future! Regards to LPG ( Liquidfied petroleum gas) conversion kit, the price is about P25,000 to P28,000. But i got my unit converted P22,000 with brand new tartarini kits. I would like it to get me higher off the ground than a small car but is not an suv (smaller than escape). Maybe a little bigger than the prius or yaris. I would like it to get pretty good gas mileage but that is not a big factor. I do not want an expensive brand (ex mercedes, lexus etc)

I'm a student... and I work for tips.. and I heard that Cnn had a financial advisor on with ways to save money with the higher costs of gas and food.... He supposedly advised ways to save money when going out to eat would be... Eat a bigger meal for lunch.. skip the extras (desserts, appetizer... ect) and lower your tip to 5%?!?!!?!?!?! I've heard this from several different people, although I can't seem to find anything about it online... I just can't imagine anyone thinking 5% is okay!!? How bout if you can't afford to tip properly, then go to McDonalds or somewhere tips aren't accepted!! Why would you screw some poor person who is trying to make a living the same as you... We think it would be great for the kids to have the space and we could save a lot of money on food, heat, taxes, etc. by having a large garden, cow, chickens and using fallen wood for heat. Best way to save money, short term? Ok. So this is my situation. I recently climbed out of credit card debt and now have a decent amount of dispossable income available to me. I have three short term goals, in priority, they are: 1. Save for a ski trip, sometime next winter, approx $7000 2. Save for an engagment ring, sometime next year, approx $6000 3. Save for a downpayment on a house, summer 2009, approx $12,000 ~~~~ I am currently able to bank approx. $800 bi-weekly. How do you save money!!!!? My boyfriend and I are having some money issues. WE both have good jobs ( I am a teacher in a good paying district, he does some technical work) and both make around the same salary. I cant save money....? i make $65,000 annually but i live in NY and the taxes are crazy...i take home about $2800 after taxes, 401k, medical insurance etc.... i cant seem to save any money no matter how much i make. i was making $30,000 right out of school and i was able to live, however, still unable to save...now im making double and its still the same deal..wahts wrong with me? does anyone have this problem too??? what do i do??? i do have bills and support my family with rent, groceries, and i have insurance, cell phone bill, and a girlfriend, and i eat lunch out for lunch and dinner... maybe tahts why...helppppp
Is it better to save money for a down payment, or make a higher monthly payment on your car for more equity? I've just purchased car for which I incurred some negative equity. Therefore I owe slightly more that what it is worth. Should I make higher monthly payments than what is due, or just save the money that I would make in addition to what is due and use it as a down payment for when I trade this vehicle in? Just seems like the latter choice would be better, since whatever extra money I put into the car, will be somewhat lost to depreciation when I trade this car in, and I'm likely to trade it in before its paid off due to the mileage I'll put on it. Whats important here is that I will be trading this in with negative equity. What will have more value when purchasing my next car, $2000 cash, or less cash and a vehicle thats more paid down. I think the interest I would save on making higher payments would be somewhat neglegible when compared to trade in value
How do you save your money? I do not keep much money in my savings account. All my moneys are in either my Roth IRA with the mutual funds/ stocks or my 401k. I am comfortable living paycheck to paycheck because I am young and can afford to struggle but when I am older I plan on having my wealth there. Can I save Electricity / money w by converting "true sine wave" to Square Sine Wave like RV DC to AC Converter I admit, I know next to nothing about electricity, thats why im asking this question. I want to know what is required to "stretch" my AC electricity in my house. I want to take my "true sine wave" coming into my house, and convert it into a "square sine wave" that will give me ability to power more things for less money. I dont know if this will save money, but it should at least in theory work to power things. I got this idea from looking into a RV and their electrical systems, and learned that they have DC to AC converters to power AC appliances. (although most things run off DC, like a laptop, and in your house you use a AC to DC adapter to power your laptop, cell phone etc.) so you can eliminate the AC to DC adapter for many things in a RV. But the (cheaper) DC - AC adapters also have some unique properties, like giving a "square" sine wave, which messes up digital clocks, breadmakers. - Can I save electricity /money by converting from true to square sine waves in my house? anyone can say yes or no. it does not answer the question, or prove you know anything (although i see you have answered a lot of questions). could you give some supporting details. I know there will be some "loss" in conversion, probably via heat, which is helpful in winter. but i want a scientific explanation why a true sine wave is more efficient or a square sine wave is more efficient to power appliances, laptop, tv, electric heater, etc. does it depend on specific appliance? or does this apply for everything electrical. It seems obvious to me, that square sine waves are easier and cheaper to produce than true sine waves, example, cheaper dc to ac adapters produce square ones. Another sub question, would be, what is cost or energy savings of producing square sine waves instead of true sine waves (for electric companies), maybe they can produce square ones for 20% less energy than trues sine waves? another sub q: who decided and why, true sine waves should be in every home?
Budget and Save Money? My husband and I are making close to 78k a year. which is good in my area (douglas county, oregon). However it seems like we never have enough money. We have two cars (one is almost paid off in April 07) which equals to $625. With insurance of $175 a month. Then we have our utilities $120 a month. And our rent is $550. has anyone ever tried to save money at disney like this? we want to go to disney this year but are on a tight budget, ive read tons of things on different web sites on how to save money. ive come up with some ways on my own to maybe save some money but they are maybe a bit dishonest, like the refillable mugsat disney resorts, insted of buying one per person id buy one and send everyone down for refills using the same mug to be poured into a glass in our room, or booking a trip for a party of four because its cheaper, staying in a room in a value resort made for four, but having five people in the room and buying one ticket at the gate saves about 800 bucks on a larger room for a family of five. im a bit concerend about what happens if getting caught. last year my three year old had turned three two weeks before our trip and i just told them she was two so i didnt have to buy her ticket. anyone ever try anything like this to save some money? did it work?

Does it save money to turn your heat off completely when your away from home? I just moved into a new place and I'm trying to save as much money as possible. My place is a large upper of a duplex. My neighbors downstairs usually run their heat most of the day. My question is, will it save money to completely turn off the heat when I leave the house? Or will it cost more to heat up the place when I get home? Also, is there a risk my pipes will burst because of the cold? Or are my neighbors taking care of that by running their heat? Also, the previous tenants were spending on average $180 per month on energy. There were 5 people living there. I'm in the apartment alone, so is it likely that my utility bills will be less? So my pipes are still at risk of bursting? Currently I have the heat completely off when I'm away and usually when I'm there I just wrap up in warm clothes or a blanket and keep it real low. It seems that people are saying that it doesn't save money cuz the gas heat will work harder and others are saying that's incorrect. What is the REAL truth? I've already got a programmable thermostat and I know how to use it, just trying to get some info about saving money on my utility bills and also if I'm at risk of having burst pipes if I use my solution.

Im saving for an Ozzfest ticket, front 5 rows at the St. Louis Verison Wireless Aplitheatre for next Summer, which prices are around $170-$200 from what I hear. What are ways to save money while in college? Alright guys, I currently am about one semester away from earning my bachelors degree. It was quite difficult but look forward to beginning my MBA in International Business. I currently work full-time as well as going to school full-time. I try my best to save money, but going out on dates and being a normal college student can be expensive. I am looking at perhaps buying food in bulk and eating it at work, more than spending a dollar for a soda. So far I save about $20 a week from bringing snacks from home than the vending machines at work. Another way I would like save money is not to eat out as much, I plan on cooking more, even if it means eating food that won't get me full. But any other tips? I have about 15k in student loans and would like to pay those off soon, but in the mean time, I feel like I should be a normal college student. I want to go to the football games and the fun parties. My GPA is 3.5 so it doesn't affect my studies. But any tips though guys?
