overseas?? why are we overseas in Iraq anyways? I don't understand it. Yeah, I know that people are trying to make people's lives better over there, but the government or whatever is spending like millions of dollars a day to be over there. I personally think that it is pointless.
How to approach overseas water filtration system buyers? My company sells water filtration system to end-users in Malaysia, and now they want to expand their business into overseas market. We would like to find some email contact of overseas direct distributors and imported companies on the internet then send out the promotional letters to them. Beside that, is there any way we can approach more overseas filtration system buyers via internet? Thank you !
What is needed overseas for troops and what is good for wives back home? My cousin just left to go overseas and at this time he doesn't know what he needs or what would be good. He said on the days off he is a little bored. What are some good ideas to send over to him? Also, his wife is at home with their 3 kids. I am too far away to help with the kids, but for other military wives, what did you appreciate from others while your husbands were or are overseas? I would like to help them out as much as possible but neither of them will say what they need or want. Thanks!
How do you feel about overseas manufacturing? I'm needed some views on how you feel about retail companies manufacturing their products overseas. Would you still feel the same about Lee's Jeans (owned by VF Corporation) if they were made overseas?
Does income earned overseas need to be reported to the IRS? I'm a United States citizen considering a job overseas. The company I'll be working for told me that they would deposit my salary into any bank account I told them to. Would it be legal to deposit my salary into a foreign account and not declare it on my taxes? Also, if you have any advice on how tobest handle this situation I'd appreciate that as well. Thanks! Please don't think I'm trying to evade income tax. Considering how responsibly our government spends tax $$$$ how could I NOT want to pay my share?

What are some good overseas free volunteer programs? I would like to do some volunteer work overseas. How do you begin to start travelling overseas and plan for the trip? This may seem like a weird question, but how do you start travelling overseas? I've been on planes and through airports several times, but I've never been overseas. So, I guess my real question is how do you plan out a trip, reserve your hotel and get around in places where you don't speak the language of the country? Maps, obviously are a big help, and learning a bit of the language.... But what about getting around the airport at the foreign country? Riding taxis? Or ordering food? I really want to travel in the future, but I'm not sure how I should begin.... Thanks! Well, details as to where: I have many different destinations. But, true. I guess I'll need to give some details. Italy, Hawaii (want to take my parents there), Costa Rica, China, Czech, Russia. Those are a few of them. Thanks!
How to approach overseas filtratopn system buyers? My company sells water filtration system to end-users in Malaysia, and now they want to expand their business into overseas market. What is the best overseas vacation destination for the novice traveler? My fiance and I are American citizens and are planning our first overseas trip. We would like some feedback on what would be the best destination considering; attractions, exchange rate, ease of travel, accomodations, etc. We are looking for a "hidden gem" that will offer the best value for the price. Thanks in advance.
How do a teacher/nurse married couple go about finding work overseas? We are looking into working overseas (not too important where at this point) but don't know where to look. There are lots of websites with overseas teaching jobs but they are only interested in the teacher and not in bringing over the nurse, as well. This understandable based on the work visas and all the other paper work. Does anyone out there have experience as a couple with different jobs finding work overseas? Anyone with any ideas or resources?
How can an american citizen start a business overseas-legally? I am a u.s. citizen working overseas. I have come across many business opportunities overseas. However, I do not have full knowledge of all the tax laws for expatriates. I would like to have all of my i's dotted and t's crossed with all u.s. tax laws.
What are the best volunteer overseas organisations? I'm planning on taking a year off between degrees next year and am looking into doing some volunteer work overseas. I was wondering what people's experiences were with various organisations, who you'd recommend etc. (I live in Australia by the way so I'm particularly interested in organisations that are based here or have a branch here.) What organizations help organize overseas community service projects? I am a Singaporean student and wish to embark on my 1st overseas community service project. Other than Habitat for Humanity and Operation Hope Foundation, are there any good organizations around? I am looking for programmes that are relatively cheap, last 1-3 weeks and welcome student volunteers.
Is overseas travel really worth the hassle of the illnesses you can catch? I'm going overseas for my first time and i'm beginning to wonder why i'm going. Sure it will be fun to experience, but there are so many illnesses I can get. I've had many vaccinations, but you can still get tummy bugs and how do you know if the food is cooked properly etc. Am I just being overly paranoid? I don't want to be sick the entire time i'm there!
When a serviceperson is sent overseas and has kids? Taking the children in this case is not an option. If relatives care for the children while the parent is serving overseas, what are the practical things that need to be considered? Does the military offer any advice or support or is the soldier on his/her own to make arrangements? Thank you. I realize the military doesn't undertake the responsibility of making arrangements for children; but are there certain rules or military paperwork that must be followed? Or is it all just regular civilian power of attorney, and so forth? And what about paying for healthcare?
How to keep sterilised bottles for overseas flight? I'm flying overseas tomorrow and need to take sterilised bottles with me for feeding my 3 month old. I will fill them with water only and add the powder as required, however Im wondering how to take the bottles, as my cooler bag only fits 2 and I was under the impression that once out of the sterliser unit, they needed to be refridgerated. I do have the pre made formula, but this only comes in a carton. My main concern is how to keep the bottles sterile after I remove them from the unit ?
What can an American college student do overseas? My girlfriend and I are college students looking for somewhere overseas to lend our help, charitably. Ideally we would like it to contribute somehow to our education (she's a Sociology major, and I'm an English major) and we'd like our stay to be rather affordable. We've already considered the Peace Corps, but that tends to be for graduates, and we are not quite there yet. Besides missionary work, is there anything we could get into, are there any programs? It doesn't really matter where we go, as long as it doesn't tremendously increase our mortality rate. Thanks for the help!
Overseas summer volunteering opportunities for High School Student (preferably Asia)? Well, right now I'm looking for volunteer opportunities for a high school student to volunteer overseas (preferably in Asia). I was just wondering if anyone know of any good opportunities for like grassroots volunteering (helping teach local kids English, volunteering in local villages, etc.) since I'm not very interested in those big programs where grassroots volunteering in rural isn't their main focus. If anyone knew of any programs like this, it'd be great since right now, I'm looking for opportunities in China and Taiwan.
How hard is government contract work overseas? I have been offered a government contracting job and will be working 12 hour days, 7 days a week in Afghanistan. How hard will it be to work 12 hours everyday? What are the living conditions like, specifically? My contract term is for 12 months with 14 days paid vacation. Anyone who has worked for KBR, WWLR, or any other overseas government contracting company please fill me in. Anyone who has done civilian government contracting knows that the job pays really well...I just want to know if it will be worth it. I will be a counter agent at the airport.
I want to start a boarding school overseas? I would like to start a girl boarding school overseas, in Europe. What I am wondering is how much of an academic curriculum can I invent, and how much would be required by the state. How much of a say does the government have in what I wish to do with the school, as long as it fulfills the basic requirements of necessities of a school? It would be English speaking with french probably as a second language. Any idea where I could get an expense list of all the different things I would have to invest in in order for this to work?
How much does it cost to transport a corpse overseas? I got into an arguement the other day with this girl who said it cost $20,000 to transport a corpse overseas. Like is someone wanted to buried back in the country they were born in. Does anyone know hom much it cost just for transport alone to ship a body overseas/internationally?
Where do I start in my overseas job search? I am a student in the US who is thinking of traveling to London next year to work/live for a semester or so. Origionally I was going to do this through my school, but I found it would be much cheaper to take it upon myself to go. So, my question is, what papers do I need to obtain to be able to work overseas? Also, any hints at job/housing sites? Any other help at all would greatly help me along the way. If you are in a similar position or have insight or a way to help please don't hesitate to get in contact with me. I am a college student and I, along with a friend, would be going to London next spring and hopefully live and work, immersing ourselves in the culture and, above all, having what should be an amazing life experience.
How often are Army soldiers stationed overseas instead of in the states? I'm enlisting in the Army as active duty for 2 years as 31B Military Police and I just wanted to know something. How likely is it that I'll be stationed overseas instead of at a base in the states? I live half an hour from Fort Meade, MD, is there any way I could request to be stationed there? Also how long does the entire enlistment process take? Like how long from now until I am registered to ship out?
How do you go about having clothing made overseas? I'm trying to start my own clothing line. I want to have custom men's clothing (polos and ties) made in the usa or overseas. Do you go through a broker or are their websites available with this information? Thanks! Any recommendations for manufacturing in the USA? Most of the manufacturer websites I've visited are pretty bad with not much helpful information. Also, would 10,000 shirts be too small of a production job to send overseas?
What was your experience like travelling overseas alone? I'm in my early teen years and I'm planning to take a plane overseas to Asia by myself. I have ppl I know living there and I'm gonna be staying with them. I'm a bit scared because of the language barrier. My worst fear is having to make stops and trasferring, because it sounds super confusing. What was your experience like?
What is the process of buying a handgun from overseas? I'm just looking for a specific handgun with ammo. All of the auction sites that have it here have continually sold it out or have it for very expensive with no ammo for it. With that in mind, I'm thinking of going overseas for it. Has anyone ever bought a gun from overseas and had it imported? What are the regulations/ tariff procedure? Can I just send it? Is there a special company that can help me? Thanks for answering the questions! jericho 941, with 9mm and .41 ae ammo thx Nothing from magnum research, Tanfoglio or the CZ version. This includes the baby eagle 9mm, 40sw and or .45. I just want the original Jericho 941 + ammo at a relatively affordable price. Thanks!
What laws apply to overseas schools accepting US federal aid? I am wondering what laws apply to overseas schools that are eligible for US financial aid. In particular, I am wondering if they are bound to any laws regarding domestic violence, sexual violence or court proceedings. More specifically, if an overseas court order is issued against a student for domestic violence, must they notify the class? If you have any resources regarding any of the above, please share them.
How do you go about investigating business overseas? I have received several email from companies from overseas offering home employment opportunities? They sound interesting, but what if it's a scam. I don't have to put up any money, it's basically for an account representative for their US customers.
How do I go about sending a letter overseas? I have the address and everything, I have just never actually sent a letter overseas. How do I go about it? It's just a letter in a small envelope. Does it need more than a stamp?

Buying an air plane ticket for someone else overseas? I'm actually wondering this since a friend of mine can not afford a flight to a European country and another friend overseas in Europe offers to pay her an airline ticket to visit a European country. I wonder, is this even possible?
What is the best way to ship boxes overseas? I am in the process of relocating myself to Korea. I don't have any furniture or anything like that but I do have quite a lot of books and clothes. What's the best way to ship, say about 10 medium/large boxes overseas? I've been looking into moving companies but some are not even willing 2 arrange pickup because it's too small. Help please!
How to start a farming business with a 600 ha land overseas? I've inherited a 600+ hectares of land overseas (in Indonesia!). According to the local university report written in the 1970's that land is good for coffee, tobacco etc (it's tropical) with a river / body of water that runs through it. Now that's all good news but what do I do with it? It's overseas to start with and I have no capital or farming background. HELP!!! Any guidance would be much appreciated.

What would be the safest way to teach overseas? I have been online looking for jobs teaching overseas, but I am not sure if the agencies posting jobs are legit. Not to be sinical, but I don't want to go some where and end up someone's sex slave. How can I be sure these agencies are what they say?
If you are flying overseas, what are some good travel tips? I am from the United States and will be traveling to England and France this summer. What should unattended minors bring on flights overseas? I'm going overseas on Friday and I was just wondering what I should bring for the fifteen and a half hour flight. It isn't really one flight, but three, one after another so do you have any ideas for what I can do for a 4 hour layover?
Overseas tax concept.? What implications would come about if a special tax was placed on US companies manufacturing overseas? It could be argued that if the American entrepreneurs were able to get the financing from US lenders and then building factories overseas to avoid export cost and taking advantage of cheap labor thus taking jobs away here. How about just taxing the imports back into the US to avoid going overseas in the first place. I know the cost of labor here is too high and nobody would buy the product. Just a newbie questions that’s got me very confused.
Kids overseas? I have fallen in love with a woman that has four children. My job pretty well requires me to live overseas for up to three years at a time. I am willing to take the kids overseas with me but custody has not been decided yet. Will I be able to take them overseas if the mother has full custody? I'm sure the ex huband will object but is there anything he can do about it as long as there were scheduled visits? Thanks.
Overseas Screening question!? My husband is in the US Navy. He recently requested and was approved for an overseas billet to Rota, Spain. My nine month old son and I are now required to undergo an overseas screening. What do we have to do? What could force us to fail the screening? My son is 100% healthy and is seen regularly by a pediatrician, but he is behind in his immunizations b/c everytime he's up for them, he has a cold. Could that affect us? I fully intend on getting my son up to date on his shots before we go to Spain! My pediatrician already explained that each shot needs to be AT LEAST six weeks apart, so we have plenty of time!
Overseas Cost of Living Allowance? We are a new family to the Army. We are getting PCS to Germany (from the US). I looked up the overseas housing allowances and the overseas cost of living allowance. It looks to me like the amount I see for the OHA is a MONTHLY amount, but the amount I see for OCOLA is PER PAY?? Can someone please clarify? I will likely have lots more questions in the future. Thanks. I guess what I really want to know is: The amount that is posted at perdiem.hqda.pentagon.mil for OHA and OCLA...are both those figures paid per pay check (which means they are doubled), or are the amounts split per pay check (which means they are a total per month)....
Including overseas experience for a local Govt.job opportunity? I am wondering if I should include my overseas experience (teaching) for a local Govt. job opportunity I am applying for. I have always included it and think it is throwing off my chances for an interview. In addition to my overseas experience my work experience is not consistent. So it could be the inconsistency in my work history that is probably causing the snag. This opportunity is in the Bay Area, CA. Some advice with this would be appreciated. Thanks

Live & work in PA and Overseas - taxed by new york? I live in PA. I was sent overseas for 3 months for work. While there, my company changed my address to a mail pouch address in New York, so my mail would automatically be sent to me overseas. When I saw my final paycheck for the year, it listed all the state taxes for the 3 month period and showed the recipient of the deducted state tax as New York instead of PA - based solely on my mail pouch address. Since I did live in PA and overseas (nothing more than a mail pouch address in NY), how is this handled? On my W-2, it merely lists STATE TAX (doesn't differentiate which state) and the amount shown is what my paycheck stub shows was paid to New York. How do I handle this? I wouldn't have even realized it was paid to New York if my paycheck stub didn't show it. Also, since I lived full time overseas (Mexico) for 3 months, should I even owe PA state tax on the amount I made while over there?
Overseas credit card-Unpaid? In my previous overseas assignment of 5 years, I had credit card balance overseas. When I was there, I was regularly paying and had my account upto date till the last day. However, I had to leave the country for another overseas project. I tried to contact the bank via mail/telephone to findout a way to continue paying them, or if they can send me the bill overseas, but guys were not very cooperative. They insisted that since Im not living there, I should pay off the FULL amount (which I could not) After trying to convince them, I gave up because as expected guys started harassing me (at the cost of my own long distance calls!!) and did not make any attempt to help. Then that Bank got acquired by another bank. I gave up on trying. Now Im a citizen of another country and have excellent credit here. Do u think at any point this little credit (US$ 6000) in that country can create problem for me?? If I travel, or visit friends and family?? Appreciate comments and helpful suggestions
Possible overseas move with dog? We have lived overseas several times and we are possibly moving back overseas (Germany) because of a job transfer. This would be the first time we would take a pet with us. We have a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel who is 2 years old. He would have to fly in his kennel because he is too big to be in the cabin with us and because housing is difficult to find (we need a large house because of several kids) he would have to be boarded for several weeks once we arrive overseas..... probably up to 8 weeks. I do not want to stress him and he has separation anxiety. Has anyone had any good experiences flying their dog overseas and also did you have to board your dog for an extended time? Please let me know your experiences regardless if they are good/bad. Thank you!!

Uni fees: UK Home v. UK Overseas v. Australia domestic? How do the UK home fees compare to the UK overseas fees? And how do either of them compare to the domestic uni fees in Australia? I'm an EU citizen and would be eligible for home f only if I bummed around Europe for THREE years after I finish school (in Aus), which doesn't sound v reasonable. So I'm thinking of just paying the overseas f but I'm really not sure of even the general area the cost's in (home nor overseas). Or, I could just do uni here, but aus is v expensive so it might be higher or equal to the UK overseas f anyway. I would probably get aus citizenship to do so and pay the domestic f (Commonwealth-supported I think they call it). But I don't know where aussie prices hover either. Oh, and I don't even know what I really wanna study yet - though something reasonably intelligent (as opposed to something like plumbing), ie. medicine or science. & it's probably worth it to note I am gonna have to take a loan in any case, either HECS-HELP (if in aus) or a reglr studnt loan. OK, so it seems that UK home is "up to £3,145". Any estimates on UK overseas and Australian domestic?
YesAsia.com overseas CD? I have a question about YesAsia.com, I buy from their regularly but always get the Japan versions of CDs. I'm a little low on cash recently and noticed the overseas version is cheaper than the Japan ones. I live in England and I'm just wondering whether an 'overseas' version of a regular audio CD will play on my stereo and computer? =) Thank you in advance! ~ Siren

Overseas contractor and having to obtain/maintain a corporate credit card? My husband just got hired and now is in training for a Contractor and will be working overseas. This company is a top leading contractor and the pay is around 200,000.He had to pass tape test and complete physicals and background checks, which he did.Now the question is this, they put his name in the system for a Corporate Amex card but it was declined. Now we are having a dispute with Amex with our own personal cards.I am wondering if by not qualifying for a credit card, would that ruin his employment because he is still in training? They did not say that this was a requirement and I am wondering if it's just to cover the companies expenses and there is an optional other way to do this without the credit card? OK,he just quit one job over in Iraq after working with them for 2 years and they did not require a corporate credit card. They did make us pay for stuff in advance and then we got the money back.
Overseas employment for US residents? An overseas company is going to employ me in their J/V company in Indonesia. I wish to know: 1) Once I have the contract, which dept should I apply and register for overseas employment? 2) Also which dept(s) I need to report so that they will grant the permission of my returning to US (I am freshly immigrated to USA but I already have my green card and SS), say, for holidays, etc? 3) I believe I have to pay the tax to US government from overseas, therefore what formalities? and how can I transmit my salary to my family legally?

Overseas Tax Exemption? I have a question about tax exemption for people living overseas. I believe I qualify for the physical presence test, but just want to be clear. The rule states that the person must be physically present in the country for at least 330 days in the year. If I was only present in the country for, say 320 days in the year, but had not returned to the US, would I still qualify for the tax exemption?
Overseas Jobs? Is there any aviation jobs overseas that don't require A&P, specifically rotor wing and fixed wing. Other than L-3.
would you recommend people travel overseas first or see their own country.? from personal experience as a 22yo I had already travelled most of australia. I was a vain, selfish girl with an ignorant opinion on how other countries do things and life in general. Until I travelled overseas and saw third world conditions for myself. Suddenly I was grateful for the life I had and realised how lucky I was and what a beautiful country I lived in. I now recommend overseas travel before domestic, even though I have travelled more extensively in oz and seen some third world conditions here. I am a better person for it. What do you think about it? overseas or your own country?
Overseas Engineering Opportunities? I was in the military for 6 years and lived overseas (Portugal) for a little over 3 of those years. I will soon graduate with a B.S. Electronics Engineering degree and would like to find some opportunites overseas WITHOUT rejoining the military. I already know of the top DoD contractors and could probably find some jobs that way (i.e. Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, etc...); but, what are some other companies/recruitors for finding engineering jobs overseas...nothing 3rd world/Middle East. I'm looking for something more European or possibly Asia (Korea? Japan?). I'm suprisingly having a hard time researching this online. Any suggestions/ideas are appreciated.

How do I find a teaching job overseas? I have heard that many overseas teaching jobs will pay off your student loans. Is this a true statement? I would like to take advantage of this opportunity and teach overseas but I do not know where to begin looking. I have done some web searches and it is hard to tell if the websites I am finding are legitmate. Names of websites or agencies that helped you get a teaching job overseas would be helpful. Also, a review of your experiences teaching overseas would also be helpful. I do have a valid teaching certificate.
Overseas Child Care? I am in the miltiary and live overseas. My wife operates a small buisness and we are forced to use local national child care (no SSNs in Korea) a few days a week so she can work. How can we claim this child care on our taxes?
Overseas student needs help applying for a studend visa to continue to uni in australia.? Ok, I've been an overseas student for 2 years and this is my last year (year 12) until my visa expires. Is it possible for me to apply for a visa to continue to uni here in Australia if I dont have any Australian relatives to sponsor me? (The last visa was a sponsored visa by my cousin who is an Australian citizen, but now he will stop sponsoring me). If yes can you tell me what requirements I need and what forms I need to complete? Also what course/career path (2 or 3 years max) should I take if I wish to work here after uni and apply for a permanent visa? And is it possible to use a Tafe certificate to apply for a permanent visa? (for the "skilled assessment" requirement) Please help me. Thanks heaps.
overseas relationship? 2 people met on an overseas conference and went out for a couple of days. The female is 23 years and the male is 20. Both are from different european countries. The female has finished her studies, has a steady job with a good status, and wants to continue their relationship. THe male is still studying with 2 and a half years left to go. Although he likes her, he doesnt know what he wants. He is unsure about how serious this relationship should be. She is willing to come for a holiday in his country. He is worried that the relationship might affect him emotionally as he doubts that it can be real. Such relationships only happen in movies. He is also worried that it may affect his academic studies. He is very interested in her but doesnt know to what level of seriousness he should take this. Should the relationship be delayed till he finishes his studies so his life is more steady and sure. Frankly, I'm not sure what I should tell him. Could anyone suggest anything?
overseas Boarding school? I talked to my parents that it would be really cool to go overseas. They said that I should take advantage of me being bilingual, and that I should probably learn French or Italian. I told them I wouldn't want to learn another language other than Enlish and Spanish, because I want to go to this one boarding school in England. They said ok, but I'm not convinced... should I go to France instead?
Overseas Tax Issue.? I have been overseas for 5 years. I came back to the states in August of this year where I took a job with the same company but in the states. Since I did not complete a full tax year overseas do I have to pay taxes on the full amount earned last year? Or just the time I came back in 2007? Or is there a way to get around this? I have been told that since I did serve a consecutive 365 days overseas I would be tax exempt, but part of the 365 days was from 2006. Can anyone help me with this?
How do you become an overseas elementary teacher? I'm currently a junior in high school and I want to become an elementary teacher. I am very interested in traveling and recently discovered (it might be a rumor) that overseas elementary teachers get paid a lot more than local elementary teachers. I know their salary can range from $25,000-$38,000, but overseas elementary teachers can make from $60,000-?. I am very interested in working as an overseas elementary teacher and need information on how to become one. I am interested in traveling in the U.K (especially France and England). So if anyone could please give me information on this that would be great. Also, I'm interested in the actual pay. My assumption is strictly based on an overheard rumor so I have no actual idea on what the salary is. I live in Alabama so I need to know what kind of colleges would be best for my courier choice. Thanks! Lola
Overseas Employment? I am looking for a good paying/benefits job overseas in the Logistics/Supply field. Anybody know of any websites or reference that I can look up for employment???
Overseas PCS - Health clearance for dependents? I'm a navy wife. My husband doesn't have orders yet, but may be doing an overseas PCS in the coming months. We're not sure where. I'd like to be pro-active about getting things organized as far as required paperwork for me (health waivers/clearance, etc.) Where do I start? Do I just make an appointment for a physical, or do I need to go through the naval hospital? Is there a checklist available detailing what I'll need for various duty stations? Any info would be appreciated. :)

Cats and traveling overseas? My husband and I are considering some career options that may require us to move overseas. However, we have 5 cats that are basically our children - we don't want to leave them behind. I have read about the restrictions and requirements for transporting animals overseas to various places. That's not an issue. Some of the possible destinations require travel times of 10-24 hours (including layovers and such), going through customs, etc. My question is, how well do cats generally tolerate such a move? I'm sure they won't like it (who would?), but I'm just concerned about overstressing them, having them get sick/injured, etc. Would getting them a sedative be a good idea? (And would that cause problems if I had to bring additional doses through customs, since it's likely I'd have to give them more than one dose?) Does anyone have experience with this? Any info would be great.

Living overseas 3000 miles from children.? I am a mother who was in a very miserable marriage for many years. I have 3 children who are now older 17,20 and 28. I stayed because of the children but thought of leaving so many times. The thought of having nowhere to take the children, bearing in mind they were settled in the sense that they had friends and school close by stopped me going. As the years went by i became more and more miserable and desperate and depressed. There seemed no way out and every day was a struggle. At that time the youngest was 13, middle one 15 and older in his 20s. I met a man online who lived overseas, after talking for almost 2 years (he was desperately unhappy too) we decided to meet. We met and fell in love but now i was faced with the terrible dilemma of what to do. This was the first happiness i had known for almost 20 years. Do i stay in the misery for another 5 years until the children were older again and independent. This is what i had been saying to myself for years " I will wait until they are older" But now here i was in love, and a man that loves me in return. After careful thinking i decided to go and be with him. I told my children that they could come with me but they decided to stay with their father. 5 years has passed since i came to live overseas. I miss them terribly but i do make a point of seeing them at least once a year. My youngest comes over and spends up to 2 months with us. I also fly over and spend at least a month with them. They are now aged 17,20 and 28. The guilt and pain are with me constantly. I still am miserable because i am not with them. Christmases are awful without them, we have not shared a family christmas for 5 years. Plus when the birthdays come i feel in lots of pain too. 2 of them now have left home and are independent. I never forget their special occasions and i have always told them there is a home here if they want to come. Can you tell me what you would have done in those terrible circumstances 5 years ago? You are ill with depression, constant misery with your spouse, your children are suffering with the daily arguments. You know you can't leave with them because you have nowhere to go and they have their home and pets and bedrooms. They are telling you they don't want to go with you but want to stay in the home. Then you fall in love and feel at last the long lost happiness that you had thought had gone forever. Do you take it? Or do you still stay in the misery? I comfort myself that they were older when i went, not babies but i know it was still wrong. Thankyou for taking the time to read this. Your answers and opinions would be welcomed. manufacturing overseas? Executives say that manufacturing overseas does not take jobs away from americans. That they supply the demand for what would of been lost if they had exported from the U.S. Does anyone know what implications could be had from this theory?

How much will our overseas pay be? I am former military, but I've never had a tour overseas (this Marine has always been stateside). My husband is an A1C in the AF and he is going on a one year remote unaccompanied tour to Osan in Korea this summer, in July. The man hides things from me, and treats our marriage like an oddly run business. It's sad that I don't know the answer to this, but will he be getting overseas pay, and if so, how much? Also, he makes me pay half the rent (despite the fact that we obviously get BAH/BAS), I was wondering if I could talk to anyone to have the part of the BAH added to his paycheck immediately go to our rent because I'm a full time student now, as well as a mom. And when he's gone, I'll basically be a single mom (although my daughter isn't his in the first place). Sometimes, I think he just married me for the $$$. Well, this isn't Yahoo "Personal Relationships Problems" Answers, so I'll quit yakkin'. Thanks for the answers! ***It's our money, not just his ;) We're married, not friends. He sees no problem in taking everyone of my paychecks. I had rank on him and earned more (obviously) and he still insisted on "fixing" our "finances." I know how the whole BAH/BAS spiel goes, I don't even know why I asked about the alotment. I guess I was in a tizzy. But thanks to everyone for the great answers. ****Without being married to me, he wouldn't be getting BAH/BAS.
Moving overseas with dogs help? We may be moving overseas by the end of the year and we have 3 dogs. I heard you have to board them for so long till they can come and live with you, is this true? Our dogs will FREAK can someone give me an exp. of how this all works? Thanks!
Working overseas... Where to go and what to do? I am going on a 3 month trip overseas (I live in Australia) and am considering staying on for another 3 months to work somewhere. It must be an english-speaking country where the weather might actually be pretty decent as opposed to rainy and cold. The last stop of my trip is Italy and it will be at the beginning of November this year. Any ideas?

Living Overseas - US Telecommute Job? I am going to be living overseas for 2 years while my wife attends vet school. I will still be working for a US company and telecommuting. My question is about income tax. Obviously my company is still going to withhold my US taxes but can I use my foreign address on my tax return? Do I still have to pay state taxes to the state I last lived in? Thanks

An overseas job in wildlife? What wildlife job would allow me to travel overseas. I would like to work hands on with large mammels, especially felines. I would really like to be a trainer, but I want to be traveling a lot.
Different Overseas Employers, Form 2555? In 07, I had 2 different employers, in 2 different countries. I've been overseas, and fiing Form 2555 for years (with 1 employer), however, Form 2555 does not allow for 2 employers, and/or 2 countries! Strangely, it allows for moving expenses from one country to another, but ignores a possible job change! Suggestions?
Expensive overseas wedding where I am a bridesmaid.? My friend is having a wedding overseas and asked me to be her BRIDESMAID. The trip itself is going to be VERY expensive, around $2000, that's without hotel, dress and present. So overall, it will be around $3500-$4000!!! What should I do?

Teaching Overseas is it worth it? I'm currently a senior in highschool and I am really interested in teaching overseas. I've read tons of blogs about people who done it and it seems like a really good way to get paid. All your traveling expenses are paid and you get to see other countries. You only need a BA in any field and a clean record. I was wondering if this is a good idea to invest into? And if I should major in education to do it or Creative Writing or Film/Cinema Studies, because I really want to write for TV too.
Wii overseas, no mod chip? Ok, this seams stupid to ask but, is there any way to unlock my Wii to play overseas games WITHOUT a mod chip. Like, is there some special code I can buy from a website, or if your feeling generous to the community as a whole, post it here. I want to get SSBB before it somes out :) so does anyone know if you can.
Why are overseas shots so expensive? I am traveling to Africa, and tried to make an appointment to get the reccommended overseas shots. It turns out its going to cost me over $500.00. I have medical insurance, but they claim this will have to be out-of-pocket as they dont cover "this kind of thing." I don't get why overseas shots are so expensive, and why our trip organizer never mentioned how costly these shots would be. He has an iternerary with all the other estimated costs (eg food, lodging, airfare), but nothing about slamming half a grand down for some shots. Im thinking about not even getting any. I went on the Center for Disease control, and it turns out that if Im going to South Africa, there are no required shots to even take. Just some malaria pills. But can someone PLEASE explain why overseas shots are never really discussed in society, as being over-expensive? I mean, is this just something people already know about and don't talk about?
Work Overseas with Approved I-140? I have an approved I-140 only and am currently on H1B. Can I work overseas for the same employer for 2-3 years, come back and apply for I-485? My GC priority date will not be current for another 3-4 years.
Trustworthy overseas teaching programs? Graduation is fast approaching for me (May 2008), and I'm set on going overseas for the next two years because I've never traveled out of the US before. I've been looking into teaching programs in the Asian countries (JET program, Travel & Teach in South Ko., etc), but I'm wondering if there are other programs (must be trustworthy or credible) that I can apply to as well? Ones that pay nicely? Suggestions and experience stories wold be greatly appreciated!
Overseas extension question? Being in the Air Force, i keep hearing that being stationed overseas is getting extended another 12 months. Nobody can give me a solid answer. I know the CONUS bases are extended by 12 months, but, it seems like overseas is still "up in the air" i guess you could say. I just want to know for sure, since im supposed to be leaving in 9 months. If anyone has heard one way or the other i would greatly appreciate the information. I dont think i could spend another 12 months at my current assignment.
overseas with poor english?..please help, lack of information.? It is said that university have some overseas students with poor english because of the fee-paying. Hence, it might have brought pressure on universities to ensure pass levels, and an epidemic of plagiarism among some groups of foreign students. They fear the federal government's focus on drawing fee-paying students from overseas has led to a collapse in university academic standards. What do you think about that? Do you have any evidence?..I only have the study of Bob Birrell. Moreover, is it difficult to get higher UAI than GPA(marks in foundation)? Do you have any evidence? Finally, do you have any cartoons of this topic? Thanks a lot!
Car dealer overseas in Camp Liberty? Say what? Is this for real??? Because I was talking to a former soldier he said they have car dealers in Camp Liberty. He knows I need to buy a new car and build my credit report. He said I oughta do it there cuz they give deep discounts like overseas, and this and that. My friend in Afghan says his airfield has the samething but only Jeep and GM. I wanted to know which ones are at Liberty. How exactly does it work? Will it help me build credit?? If anyone knows. Thx

overseas employment? My husband is having a fit to go overseas to work, he has been trying to get on with different companies to go to work for them. he has had to deal with passport issues, that took four months, and now trying to get his haz mat endorsement back on his cdl is like pulling teeth. Does anyone have any suggestions for getting on with a company quicker that 8 months? So far everything he has done is right, it is everything else that is slowing him down and all he can talk about is going overseas. He is so anxious, he can hardly sit still. He is 43 and ready.
Overseas travel agency refuses to refund credit card? I booked airline tickets online and didnt realize the travel agency was in the UK. I thought I was getting a great deal and used my brother's credit card to buy what I thought were tickets that cost $1560 US Dollars. Turns out they were charging in pounds not dollars. I contacted the overseas company to try and cancel immediately..within minutes of purchase. I sent numerous emails, and no answer. I called the company, overseas, numberous times, just to be placed on hold for over 30 minutes each time and then get hung up on. The charge hit the account and charged over $3300 dollars. Finally I was able to get through to someone over there and they informed me that the tickets were non-refundable!! It clearly states on the confirmation letter a phone number to contact in order to modify or cancel this booking. I had my bro contact his credit card number to dispute this. Will they credit his acct or are we a$$ed out of this money? Any help/advise would be helpful.
overseas or local degree conversion ??? If u have 35k with u and these are all you have, will u actually spend all for one year overseas final year degree conversion or will u opt for the local degree conversion by the same university. Both certifications are exactly the same. F.Y.I., overseas : 35 k ( with living expenses ) local : 22k ( no expenses needed ) Im undecided. Thanks.
Overseas Service Stripes? Okay I guess it's a relatively simple question. I was part of 1st Armored Division which is based outta Germany. I'm trying to put together my Dress Uniform (Class A's). I was with 1st AD for 2 years. A year of that I was in Iraq. For the Overseas service stripes (the stripes you wear on the right sleeve of the Class A uniform) di you only wear them for time spent in Iraq/ deployed or do you wear them for the entire time spent overseas (so should I be wearing 4, 2 for the year in Iraq and 2 for the year in Germany?).
Overseas Coupon Program? Does anyone participate in the Overseas Coupon Program? If you're not familiar with this, it is a program that allows expired coupons to be sent overseas so that military families on American bases can use them in the commissaries. I think it's wonderful and I have decided to start contributing. Check out the website below: http://www.ocpnet.org

I know the guy loves me but i m so annoyed bcz he dznt express it as much as i want him too. Irs an overseas relationship that means we dont get to see each other except every few month. overseas volunteer question? i am looking to go overseas (more specifically in africa) to volunteer my time and skills. i have researched many programs all asking for a program fee to be paid and unfortunately i do not have the money to do so. does anyone know of any programs that allow you to volunteer overseas for free?
Can you trust an overseas client to pay? I run an entertainment and events mgt business in Malaysia. Although my company is home-based / very small, recently many local clients have been recommending us to their overseas clients (end-users or event companies). I am very happy about this but it is a dilemma to deal with overseas cos. esp. when it comes to payment. We usually ask for 50% deposit and 50% balance to be paid by cash immediately after the event. This is stated in our contract but some clients have violated the contract (by paying only when they return to their country and some don't pay full!). Recently when another overseas client said they'll only pay after the event when they return to their country, I withdrew my contract. Finally they agreed to my terms and conditions and they did pay me cash after the event. My dilemma is that they are returning and have asked me again if they can pay AFTER the event! I foresee that as I have more overseas dealings, I will be constantly facing such problems. Help!
Successful Filipinos Overseas? Do you agree with the general observation that Filipinos are more focused/disciplined and become more successful when they are overseas than at home? What can be done to replicate this behavior in the Philippines? interesting insights. I am an optimist and hope for the Philippines' and the future generations' sake that what some say that it cannot be done is not true.
Moving overseas for love? Or stay for career.? The guy I've been dating with the last 7 years has moved overseas for work. He has offered me to live with him, but I'm too scared even though its a good opportunity. I fear he will always be at work and if I can't find a job, I'll be bored. Also I'm in a good job so moving overseas means might be jobless or starting from the botton up again. Any advice? What should I consider about this big step?
Can I move overseas since I have primary custody? Hi. I was wondering since my child's father and I share joint legal custody and I have primary physical custody if I could move overseas? I was never married to my child's father and he is not on the birth certificate, we did go to court and he has visitation but I have primary physical custody. I have since married and my husband and I have moved overseas due to the miltary. My child's father knows this has our new address, phone, and is in contact with the child. I just want to know if I could get in trouble since I moved overseas. There is nothing in the court order that says I can't move. It just says to notify the courts if I move. I called the courts today and the clerk told me to just mail them my new address and info. I just want to make sure that I didn't do anything illegal to get my child taken away from me. Her father has only seen her like 5 times and she is 3 yrs old. He is paying child support, and since I initally took him to court has been doing the right thing. Thanks Well the father knows that we are overseas, before moving we typed a letter ourselves and signed and date it, it however, was not notarized, i don't know if it still counts. But the child's father knows were we resides, and he is in contact with her. When I was in the states, we lived in separate states anyways, and our child is not school age,she is only 3 yrs old. I just want to make sure I don't get in trouble cause I dont need that. Or wasn't trying to start trouble, also I have primary custody of the child and we just share joint legal custody. Thanks for your help.

If anyone can tell me anything about that I would really appreciate it :) I'm 22, live in the U.S., and I'm a C.N.A. who is going to school to become a RN.
Is an average overseas Korean happier than a Korean living in the Korean nations? Because of historical reason which can be understood, the Korean nations have developed the very strict culture which controls the people's freedom in the nations, highly emphasizes on success and capital punishment, resulting in considerable pressure on the people, unhappiness and tough personality of the people. So it's not strange that the phenomenon called "overseas Korean" exists because they can find more happiness overseas, especially those living in America, Australia, Canada, UK, New Zealand etc. But I've heard that Korean culture is very strong. So I'm not sure whether these overseas Koreans, especially those living in countries scoring high on the people's satisfaction with life such as the US, Canada, New Zealand, Australia, UK etc. still retain their original culture especially in term of emphasizing success, capital punishment etc? Or they're happier than those in the Korean nations because they have much more freedom in the US, Canada, UK etc.? Sorry I made a spelling mistake. Not "capital punishment", but "corporal punishment"

Are u studying overseas? Any experience want to share? Are u regret to study overseas instead of staying in your own country? Just imagine, if u never go overseas, things can really be different.. Do u think it is the right choice? What u have learnt and do u think u have changed a lot after many years of living and studying overseas? Today i saw i girl was crying a public phone outside 7-11. I know she is a foreigner, crying to her mother about bad things happened overseas.. I had a lot of thinkings.. She cannot be worse than me as i came alone to Singapore when i was 15 years old, without any accompany. Even when i was most down, i never cried on phone to complain to parents like that, no need to say in public, under lots stares of passers-by. So embarrassing! Like that, she can never survive in Singapore, no i wonder how i spent these 5 years here, on my own.
Live overseas for 12 months or finish my degree and start career? I'm 23 yo. and have just recently completed my Psych degree. I am now half way through having a year off, but recently my partner and I have been discussing living overseas, possibly in the UK, for a year. He only has a couple of years left on his working visa and I have always wanted to travel through Europe so it could be a great opportunity for both of us. However, I have been struggling to come to a decision about whether to do what could possibly be an experience of a lifetime as I am worried about loosing my motivation to actually want to go back to Uni and go through an intensive 2 years Masters degree after living overseas and having a great time for 12 months. I have been working damn hard for the past 4 years to get to this point and I don't want to risk throwing it all away and forgetting how important finishing my degree is to me, which I'm worried may happen after living abroad for 12 months. Anyone else been in this situation or have any thoughts?
The USA is beating us overseas, anyone else worried? I haven't been paying as much attention to either national side since summer began, recently I just found out that most of the USNT consists of players playing in europe. This worries me, why is the USA beating Mexico overseas? Granted most play in the "English speaking" Premiership, but why aren't Mexicans flooding Spain? I understand that Mexicans are comfortable in the FMF that the pay is better than most leagues, but already you can see the results of US players going overseas. I hate the US team as much as the next mexican, but Dempsey & Bocanegra have improved so much in their tenures overseas, Adu I think will soon follow suit. I understand that the few Mexicans we have overseas play on strong clubs, but what are players like Cacho, Magallon, Pinto, Arce, and maybe even Landin still doing here? They probably wouldn't make it at Barca but I know they could hold their own on a small Spanish team/Big French team. Thank you for answering. blue why the hell do you even leave a comment then you dumb bastard? go win a game without a pk u little bit(h! damn hatecrew ur a funny bastard man :p
TEFL Overseas? Where Do I Even Being? I am very interested in teaching English overseas. I currently hold a B.A. in History from a University here in North Carolina. I also just got back to NC from 8 months in New Zealand, where I worked for 8 months. I was wondering how to figure out what company/school to go with to get my certification? Any suggestions? I am looking for any advice from someone who is or has taught overseas. What steps did you take? How long did the whole process take you? I am looking at leaving the US after May 2008. Any help/tips/suggestions would be great! I am just looking for a starting point because there is so much information out there that I feel a bit over my head. I have traveling experience as well as a degree. I also tutored college students for three years? Where do I start the process to get certified and leave the US with a secure job?
Studying Overseas? I am considering studying overseas, more specificaly the U.K.. I was wondering if anyone has done this and how hard it was to get into their schools and adjust to living? How hard was it to fit into their society? and if you found a job, how hard was it to do so? Also do you know of any scholerships that are offered to students planning on studying overseas?
British overseas territorys and commonwealth? I heard somewhere that biggest empire to this day remains to be the British Empire but it's just no longer done in old traditional way of being an empire. The several and several countries that still have commonwealth and British overseas territorys are still controlled by the British. I can't think of any other nation that is still doing and to this degree? Does the empire live on? There is not another country that has so much land outside their country! http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/co... All pink on the map is Commonwealth or British overseas terriroys to this day!

Las Vegas or Overseas Wedding? We are looking to get married in October 2008. It is just going to be the two of us. We are thinking about Vegas or finding somewhere either in the states or overseas that would be really special. Here are some things that we like if we were to go overseas: castles, nature, water (creek, river, ocean), historic. Is it hard to get married overseas? Any location suggestions? Websites? As for Las Vegas, here are some questions: Witnesses? Location Ideas? Unique Ideas? Keep in mind it is just going to be the two of us. Or does anyone have any suggestions for a location other than Vegas in the states that would make for a nice private ceremony?

taxes overseas/tax credit in US without paying taxes elsewhere? As i am preparing to look into the opportunity to moving to Europe i have couple simple questions about taxation. I work for a non profit organization based in the US. This organization is looking to open an office in Europe and pay my salary in the US. Since i will live there more than a year, do i have to pay taxes ex in Germany or France since all my income comes and goes directly into a US bank? Also, am i eligible to get lower taxation in the US since i live overseas keeping in mind that i don't pay foreign taxes (if there is a way to do it)? Can that happen, or nothing changes and i am still paying the full amount in the US since my salary comes and gets deposited in here. Or am i subject to foreign taxes regardless?
Business overseas? Ok, so I am an honours finance student who is convocating this year, but I don't really want to work here at home in Canada, so I've been seriously looking overseas, especially in The Netherlands/Holland. What are the upsides/downsides to this? (Most of the positions I've researched are English speaking)

Emails from overseas (England, Africa, etc.) requesting money transfers.? I have been receiving emails from overseas (England, Africa, etc.) requesting that I transfer money. I will not only respond to these emails, but I started using the "Spam" choice to block these addresses. To me, this is illegal and unethical, and I will not respond to such an email. I would also like to report this matter to Yahoo. Please advise.
Can I be taxed on overseas inheritance? Can I be taxed on overseas inheritance? I recently inherited a property overseas from my mother who is not an american citizen. The property is worth $100,000 roughly. Will I be taxed on this? If I decide to sell the property will I be taxed on that even though I will have to pay taxes in the other country? Thanks for the help
US resident overseas? I am a US resident married to a US citizen. My husband received orders to work overseas. His orders include his spouse. Upon arrival n Germany I found that a US green card and oders do not mean a thing when you are looking for a job with the military communiy. They force all US residents to register in Germany and then treat them as local nationals. Is this really legal to disregard the US residency completely? Just for eparsons: I am sponsered but nobody cares. If you are not a US citizen you are treated like a local national. There is no choice. I just want to know if this is really legal.
Working abroad/overseas? What websites can i go to where i can find job opportunities overseas? I'm not looking for programs where i have to pay a fee either...does anyone have any experience with this?

Travelling overseas! Need help about bags? I'm going from Chicago to NYC on Saturday, then to Dubai on Tuesday. I have 2 big bags, which I'm sure will be under the 35 kilo limit for overseas travelling, may be a bit over from chi to nyc but that's okay. However i want to also check my small roller suitcase, will they let me? It'll just have like personal items but I don't want to lug it around and with that silly 3 oz rule, a lot of it would be thrown out anyway if I took it with me around the airport. Advice please? If they let me check it for a fee, how much do you think it'd be? Thx frenza, I've realized I'll just have to stick it in the other luggage too. Oh well, but thanks!

taking computer overseas? I am going to take my computer overseas, to Europe and Asia. (I am in the US.) My computer does not adapt to 220, so I need an adaptor. I have one of those standard voltage converters with the different plugs for each continent, like you buy at walmart for your hair dryers, etc. Will this work, or do I need to purchase a separate adaptor? What, specifically, do I need to buy? Can you give me a product name? Someone said I needed an adaptor to go from a three-pronged to a two-pronged plug. Why would I need this if i purchased another adaptor? Thanks for your help.

Law school overseas? I am a white collar worker who has been in the same industry for about 12 years. I am 38 years old now and want to seek out my dream which is a law degree. I am intending to go to school full time but I would like to go to law school in Europe. Can anyone tell me is it possible to go to law school in Europe and have it accepted in the US? Ferrets as Overseas Pets? Is is safe to ship a Ferret overseas? I am moving to the Ukraine, and I want to get one. (they seem easier than dogs) and i want something playful.
Buying leased land overseas? I am looking to buy land overseas but the countries land tenure is by leasing in terms of 30 years, renewable for an equal period. I am assuming this means that I would never be the landowner and that there might be restrictions on what can be done with the land/building? Does this also mean the "Landowner/Government" can just kick you off the property if they receive a better offer say in 10 years time? At the moment you can buy 1 ha of agricultural land for about 15 to 20,000 Euros. After researching and looking at similar case studies/locations I feel the country will develop more in terms of tourism with the aid of foreign investment. A big resort development has already been drawn up and they are already selling villas from 62,000 Euros upwards. Do you think this is a good risk to take?????

OCONUS (overseas) PCS move & fear of flying - How can I get out of this move? My husband has orders to move the whole family overseas, but I am scared to death to fly. (He is the service member, I am the wife.) How do I get a medical certificate that says I have a bona fide fear of flying? There has got to be a way the Army can put me on some kind of ship. I am having serious anxiety issues concerning this upcoming PCS move, and if I have to get on a place, I believe I will have a nervous breakdown. Help! Can I get a medical certificate to get me out of flying? How? Will the Army pay for a cruise instead of a flight, or do they have some kind of ship I can get on? Is there a way to get out of the PCS move altogether & stay stateside? Thanks for the info!

My fiance is overseas and he loves me BUT????? I recently got engaged and before engagement i knew my fiance from only a month (i know it's funny) and now as it happens i am getting married (lo n behold) in less then two months. Coming from a country like India i know it's no big deal as my wedding may seem like in a hurry but i do love him n he loves me. Currently he's living alone and is overseas and he'l be coming here 15 days before the wedding. BUT BUT BUT my fiance has been called a CASANOVA before we met. All i am trying to say is that it PISSES THE HELL OUT OF ME just by thinking that god knows what he may be doing there right now. I know i may sound funny to you guys..he assures me that he's COMMITTED to me and in no terms can he even imagine doing something which may hurt me. But i am just insecure...WHAT SHOULD I DO TO STOP IMAGINEING THINGS LIKE THIS????????? I am very straightforward to him when i make myself clear on these terms...but i just can't stop getting pissed off because of his previous casanova image.
Fees for overseas employment? I wish to know if a person is hired by an overseas company, should they be paying any fees before the work permit is processed? I work overseas and stay away from home for months. Doe you think she is cheating? I work overseas and stay months away from home. My wife lately loves to go out for 'tea', karioki, bars with her girlfriends and some male companions. My friends are concerned about this as she is seen out after mid night some times. When I ask her about it on phone she says she got tired of staying the house and just being a mum, she wants a life too, as for the guys she hangs with, they are just friends. There is this guy that visits our home, she admits he does but says his just a friend. Do you think she is cheating on me and what do u suggest I do?.

Getting a loan from overseas....taxed or not? This is a complicated situation but I am going to try to explain this as easy as I can. My in-laws are dutch. They live overseas and are loaning us 56k to pay the second mortgage of our house. The reason they are doing this is they want us to have more equity in our house than just 5% (we will have 20% after we accept their money). They cannot just "gift" us that amount of money overseas because their government will tax them so they actually have to charge us 3.5% interest (the lowest rate they can) for an interest only loan. I have several questions about this...1. If we transfer it, can we transfer the entire amount without getting taxed on it here (if a $56k amount hits our bank account in the US, I think they will alert the IRS..right?)? Should we transfer this in smaller amounts little by little. 2. We will be setting up an American account to pay the interest back to them monthly. We are currently paying 8.12% on our second mortgage....so we will save $200 a month with the loan
JOBS overseas? Iraq? We've all heard of Civilian contractors being taken prisoner, killed, etc overseas... How does one land a job like that? Given they are willing to take the risk. Anyone know of any contractors hiring overseas, or potential "danger zone" jobs? Thanks

flying overseas? I'm going to be flying overseas from LAX (L.A.) to TPE (Taipei, Taiwan) and have never flown overseas before. I will be flying with China Airlines on a Boeing 747 and I am kind of worried. Is it hard to sit still on a plane for 14 hours? I want to sleep on the flight, but I don't think I can sleep sitting down. The flight is also at 11 something at night. Does anyone have any advice, I am pretty worried about the safety, doesn't Taiwan have a lot of bad weather?
deployment time overseas? I have to do a research paper for a class and I was wondering if I could ask ya'll for some info. I don't know if this is correct but-did the time for overseas deployment change from 1 year to 15 months? If so, then when and why? What is the max time that you can be deployed? Does the deployment time change from different military branches? For example, in the Army would then time be different then say, the Marines? Would time be dependent on situation? Are there any regulations the military must follow when deploying a person? Such as they have to be home so many months, etc. In your opinion why is this a good idea/bad idea? thank you all so much! :)

sending computer overseas? Hello husband and I are going overseas, and we would like to take our computer with us so that we can homeschool our child, but last time when we mailed our coomputer from over seas, the post office scanned our computer, and it messed up our hard drive. So do you know what should I do? is it possible that I can have the post office mail it without them scanning it. Or should I just take it with me on the plane and have them put it in cargo. I know that my husband said that I can take the hard drive out and take it with me as my arryon luggage, and have them put the computer itself in the cargo on the plane. what should I do any suggestions.

OSR (Overseas Service Ribbon)? Okay I was stationed in Germany (1st AD). Nowwww....I was given two overseas service ribbons. 1 for my time in Germany and 1 for my time in Iraq (while I was still with 1st AD). Okay now I'm at another unit and their telling me I'm only authorized 1 OSR. It says 2 on my ERB and I'm almost positive I'm awarded 2 anyways because of the year in Iraq and the year in Germany. My unit is saying one because I was already overseas when I deployed to Iraq. I'm pretty sure their dead wrong. Any thoughts?
advice for teaching overseas. where do I start? I'm in high school. I love foreign languages and I want to move to Europe. So I thought that I could become a teacher overseas for english as a second language. Preferably in Germanic or Spanish areas. But could anyone with experience give me some advice? Would majoring in teaching and minoring in spanish and/or german be a good enough degree? Are teaching jobs in demand? Do they pay better or worse than here?
I am working overseas for the first time, and my supervisor from North America told me I am socially inept.? I have been working overseas for four months, and after a meeting with coworkers and my supervisor tonight, my supervisor took me aside and me that he and my coworkers had noticed I tend to be socially inept. Unlike the others, I do not get drunk on weekends, and do not participate in casual sex/relationships. I am guilty, however, of speaking my mind and wearing my heart on my sleeve. I grew up in a very small town without cable TV; I lived a sheltered life. Does this mean I am socially inept? I will be living and working (housing is provided in my contract) with these people until June, so how can I resolve this, or become less socially inept without conforming to their ways? I am living in China, however, part of my contract is to teach about Canadian culture. I am teaching English here. I know drinking alcohol at meals is a BIG deal, but I have chosen to abstain completely from alcohol, and I know that has NOT impressed some Chinese people! I've realized that my circle of friends is going to be much different from my colleagues group of friends and my social life is going to be much different. Also, with the exception of one of them, I am the only one who has not previously lived overseas, so in that regard, I have a lot to learn.
