Brett Favre retiring? I know this is the basketball section but what do you guys think of Brett's retirement and his legacy in the context in macro perspective of all professional sports? Should Brett Favre retire or play another season? I like Brett Favre he is one of the greatest GB ever to play like Joe and Dan and Troy. I would like to see Brett finish this season on top even a Super Bowl win but when do you ask your self "Should I play again or step down?" How much more of a beating can my body take?
So is Brett Favre actually retiring or not? this is going to be 2001-2007 where every year talks about retiring or did realize after getting his butt whooped by the giants that its time to retire Come on KIMMY!!! thats the worst excuse to use! it was packers who said the favre is used to that weather and would own the giants. SO STOP using that excuse
Will Brett Favre retire or come back? And How far are the Packers away from the Superbowl? If Brett does indeed come back the Packers will be in great shape heading into the 2007 season. If anybody saw the way the Packers finished the season they would understand that the Packers arent to far off from returning to another Superbowl, what seemed like a distant dream in the beginning of the 06' season, may become a reality, with the packers putting together a dynamic defense led by their vetran secondary and young savy line backers. With the Packers defense on the rise and a young team coming into it's own it doesnt matter how many interceptions # 4 throws 29 or 1 the Packers are a team on the rise BUT only with Brett Favre. If any of you read this and work for a newspaper i am looking to start a journalism career
What will it take for Brett Favre to retire? He is currently playing great and he's on a winning team. More importantly, he is having fun again. So, I'm wondering, what will it take for him to retire, a Superbowl win, being on a bad team again...what?
Is Brett Favre really retiring?? OMG!!!! I heard that he was and im not sure if its true...please tell me its not!!!!! he is like the greatest quarterback ever....he can't retire yet...please!!!!! I LOVE BRETT FAVRE!!!!
Is Brett Favre dying or retiring? Don't get me wrong, the guy is a top 5 QB of all-time, but this ESPN lovefest and prior Madden lovefests, focusing on how hard his personal life has been, is getting a bit out of hand. Most of the world will have a dead parent in their life and will lose a spouse at some point. His wife is a survivor, thank God, so why must Boo-ya network and Madden continue to celebrate what Brett Favre 'has overcome'? - Just wondering.........
What was the first thing you did after hearing the news, brett favre retired? I was in gym class these guys were talking about it, i just though they were messing around, then our gym teacher was all upset, then i knew it was for real, i was so embaressed it took all i had not to cry in front of my gym class. :( oh my god how will the packers be the same? brett is all i ever knew!!!
What are peoples opinion about Brett favre retiring or not? HaHa I got your attention finally. Ok I am really interested in playing the D-line or outside linebacker. I've thought about middle linebacker but I've decided that I am way to small for that. I am going into high school next year so i'm trying out for my freshman team. Here are my stats, Age:14 Height:5-3 Weight:117 (gaining about 7 pounds of muscle every 2 weeks) 40 time:4.6 Max Bench: A measly 65 pounds 10 times, but I'm working out every day and really going to improve that by football season. Max squat:150 I'm a harsh tackler and i know that by experience although its hard for me to take down anybody that is over 200 pounds. Please no bullcrap answers and These are the positions that i want to play, nothing else. I plan on being about 5-9 or 5-10 when i'm full grown. best answer will get ten points. Please answer. Then if you want me to stop then answer solat.
I never thought this would happen, but Brett Favre is retiring...? I don't want anyone to mistake me for a Packers fan. I am however a Brett Favre fan. However, with all the talk of whether or not he would retire, I(in my young 20 year life) thought I was actually gonna outlive his football career. lol. Anyhow, now that he has in fact decided to call it a career, I have these 2 questions in mind: 1. Where does he rank on the list of the all time greatest QB's? 2. In 5 years when he will be eligible for the HOF, do you think he'll get in on the 1st ballot?
If Brett Favre retires this year, who is the best QB in the NFC North? I am a Bears fan and have been wondering about this. The lack of QB's in that division is the reason why our D is so gaudy. I really can't even give a good guess to this question. I would probably guess Rex but only cause he is on the top 10 list of most passing touchdowns. His turnovers though are ridiculous.
Breaking News: Brett Favre is retiring!? I can't believe the Green Bay Packers will be playing without Brett Favre...Do you think Aaron Rodgers is ready to take over the team? Why the heck is no one answering my question!?
Brett Favre is retiring??? How do you thing Green Bay will do without him? We love Brett in this household......Packers games will not be the same!
brett favre? i am from wisconsin and all should know brett favre has sadly retired who here like him and is mourning his lose like i am.
Is Ted Thompson excited that Brett Favre retired? Im disappointed he didnt say at his press conference that the packers definately wanted him back and felt like he could still play. Love Ted Thompson so far but it seems like he has been pushing him out the door since the day he has come it. He wants his own stamp on the team.
Will brett favre retire next season? The guy is turning 39, but he can still produce, and he was 1 INT away from the SB this season. However, rumors of him retiring have been swirling around before seasons past. Could this have been brett's last year in the NFL?
If Brett Favre retires, would you be sad? I know I would. Even though im a pats fan and he beat us in the SB 10+ years ago, I recognize his talent and his leadership and his toughness; 17 season without missing a single game, in this day and age is something to be respected. Brett is one of those legendary QB's that will be mentioned in the same sentence as Marino and Montana, and when he retires its not only a loss for the packers but also for all football fans as well. COME ON BRETT ONE MORE YEAR!!!
Brett Favre? Do you think that Green Bay Packers Quarterback Brett Favre will retire from the NFL? The way he was talking in his interview that was recently aired on Sportscenter it sounded like he was headed in that direction.

Brett Favre Retires? Espn.com reporting Brett Favre has retired from the NFL. do you guys think he will go into the hall of fame the first year he is eligible?
Brett Favre? So, what do you all think. Has Brett Favre really decided to not retire and play for someone other than the Packers next year. Thats the latest rumor. http://sports.aol.com/fanhouse/2008/04/03/random-unsubstantiated-rumor-brett-favres-retirement-lasts-27/
Will/should Brett Favre retire...? Will Aaron Rodgers replace Favre or should the Packers look for another QB? Would JaMarcus Russel (LSU) be a suitable replacement or should the Packers look for another QB in pro-football...Who's your choice? Packers CEO Thinks Brett Favre Will Return Posted Jan 20th 2007 8:32AM by Michael David Smith Filed under: Packers, NFC North, NFL Gossip, NFL Rumors The Brett Favre retirement watch will never end. Favre will probably break George Blanda's NFL record of 26 seasons in the league, and we'll spend every off-season until he's 60 speculating about whether he'll be back. Add Packers CEO Bob Harlan to the list of people who expect Favre to return to Green Bay for yet another year. Harlan said he watched Favre entering the visitors' locker room at Soldier Field in the regular-season finale and believed then that Favre would return. "I felt that night in the locker room and I still feel today that he's going to come back," Harlan said. Aaron Rodgers, enjoy your life on the sidelines. It's going to be like this for a long time.
Brett Favre retired?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? After all these years, it looks like Brett has decided to retire. I can't believe it!!! I hope Rodgers can pull the load and get the Packers to the Super Bowl. What is your reaction to him retiring and do you think the Packers will be any good without him?
Should Brett Favre retire? I think he should. Rogers needs to settle himself in with this young team so they can be good in a couple of years. They might not make it to the playoffs next season, but do you really think Favre has it in him to get to the Super Bowl, or even the playoffs. I know he did it this season but I think it's time for the Packers to leave the Brett Favre era.
Did Brett Favre retire yet.....? Come on hes going to be 39 playing next season if he does. Also i think Green Bay isn't giving a future star a chance. The only game I remember of Aaron Rodgers was when Brett got injured against the Cowboys down 14 points. Rodgers rallied them back and i think tied but still lost. 2 questions 1. Do you want Brett Favre back next year? 2. Do you think Aaron Rodgers could be great if he got a shot.
Should Brett Favre retire after this season? let's not talk about how the packers aren't that good or that he is way past his prime. let's forget about records and stats. have you seen him play the game? i mean, really play the game. he's having so much fun playing football. here's this 40ish looking quarterback who sprints down the field to celebrate with his teammates after a touchdown. he did his first lambeau leap. he's having a blast playing. you know, for once, it looks like an athlete isn't doing it because of the money. he looks so enthusiastic and having so much fun playing with his guys. it gives a better reason to love brett favre.
If Brett Favre Retires will the packers win the NFC North? Name who comes in what place in the Division? Bears-Down Year but they still have good talent to be up there again Vikings- Good explosive team, needs work at the QB position, if so definent Contender Lions- Good overall But it comes down to Experience and playing Consistent Every game, this team has the potential to be a very good team And The Packer- Good team, many think it was just luck but they are the real deal but yet they lost to the giants at home, so yet again it comes to Experience and veterains stepping up. If favre they will be a ligit team
Should Brett Favre retire? Some people think that Brett is too old, but others say that he is still one of the best QBs in the game.
Why did Brett Favre retire? I thought he announced earlier on this year that he wasn't retiring, does anyone else think he had one more season left in him?
brett favre retired!? i am so sad that he decided to retire this year now we have to stick with sh!tty aaron rodgers or craig noll :(
As a Miami fan, I am also a Pittsburgh, and a Green Bay Fan. Why did Brett Favre retire? In a way I think he did the right thing because if he would be back, he can easily get an injury because he's not young like when he was in his 20's. The way I think was a mistake because if just the packers defense get more stronger, than maybe next year they would go to the superbowl and win it. You have to admit the Giants did play better than the packers the whole game, but the Giants almost lost it mentally. If u watched that game well, the giants really deserved to win. Even though he retired, Aaron Rodger proved that he can throw 2 touchdowns against dallas last year, and that's pretty good. Now with the rodger on the line, we would see green bay win the superbowl in 2 or 3 years later. If brett was back, they would win it next year.
Should Brett Favre retire? I would rather see him retire than go to another team. He should do what Reggie Miller did in the NBA. Relish a great career and be done with it. He shouldn't play for another team.
IF and WHEN Brett Favre retires....What do you think he will do? Football commentator/Sports analyst...Take Bryant Gumbles place? Quarterbacks coach or assistant coach? Do commercials and Movies? Buy a car dealership and some restaurants? Or just go home and do some Fishing/Hunting and some Golf? like the "good Oh Boy" he is!
When is Brett Favre going to retire? Lots of rumors out there; does anyone have a credible source to cite? Yes, DaClint, I heard the same thing on FoxSports Chicago. Then on Mike and Mike in the morning on espn2 and espn radio they said it also. Now on ESPNews the opposite is bieng reported. Too many conflicting reports; it is imperative to the NFC what Favre does/does not do.
