Retiring In Thailand Knowledge Base

Which place is cheaper for a person to retire: Thailand or the Philipinnes? I am thinking about retiring in about 10 years and I want to start planning. If I stay at my current job, I can retire with about $2950 per month (a little under 100 per day). I would like to retire overseas. I am concidering Thailand and the Philippines. Which one would be cheaper? Which one has the better quality of life for retirees?
Pros and Cons of retiring in Thailand.? Hi, I have read this forum for a while. I think plenty of you are American retirees in Thailand. Can you tell me some advantages and disadvantages of retiring in Thailand? What are procedure of retiring in Thailand for American? Thank you very much.
Expats: Have you ever been fearful/afraid while living in Thailand? I just read an online news about a 'farang' being kidnapped by crooked cops and other 'farang' mafia brothers and just wonder if you ever fear of such similar incidents might ever happen to you. It just expresses of my husband's concerns about moving back to Thailand. His concern is that it would be like having a bull's eye on his back since he's a 'farang' and local crooks might target him/us as 'loaded'. Of course, we never live our lives with a 'show-off' attitude but we wish to own a house, drive a car (compact car; no benz), and I will do all housework myself (no maid). But people at the bank will know us. What's about the immigration office where your info is so easily obtained by a crooked cop (former immigration officer)? What's about your neighbors? With this news I read, I am kinda having a second thought about retiring in Thailand. Any insights? Note: My husband and I visited Thailand several times. I've been away from the Thailand I knew over 20 years. We've never been in any shady business. As for if my husband ever stepped on anybody's foot (figure of speech), no he has not. He's concerned about our safety since a 'farang' seems to be an easy target to be conned. It seems Thais think most farangs got money. Ridiculously untrue. However, it's almost like a redistribution of wealth is ok in the eyes of some crooks.
Can i get investor/retired status in thailand if i got a few million baht to invest? My boyfrind and I wanna settle in thailand after we marry. We just wanna stay together in a nice country together, by some residence or long term visa. We are both retired in sense we dont need to work or do a job in thailand. We both are indians and just wanna stay in a nice country long term. we dont want a work visa anywhere. we rather just give some money and get a residence/retirement visa in any country..including thailand. I heard somewhere that you can get a retirement visa in thailand if u got loads of money and are above 50 yrs. However, we both are about 30 years, so i was wondering if we just invest a bit of money in thailand and stay there with some investor/retired status visa? any advice? only real life experiences please. if u have managed to get a similar status stay it would be helpfull if you could give us a detailed reply. thanks
Do you think it will be an advantage to make my Thai wedding legal in my home country? I am getting married in Thailand soon, i am Australian, she is Thai. I have read on the internet about making my Thai marriage 'legal' so the Aust goverment recognize the marriage. But after speaking to someone who is retiring in Thailand soon it sounds like i may have to bribe a lot of people in Thailand for this to happen? And my fiance phoned up the Embassy in Bangkok to ask about this, they told her they don't know how we can do this!!?? Any help would be greatly apprieciated. :o)
I want to ship my Honda Goldwing Motorcycle from the West Coast, USA, to Bangkok, Thailand.? Who offers this service, how much, how long will it take, insurance. I am moving, retiring in Udon Thani, Thailand and I want to take my new Honda Goldwing Motorcycle with me.
Do Americans ever retire in poorer countries such as China or Thailand, because they can live like kings...? For instance, I went to Thailand two summers ago and it was great! Food was delicious, 4-star hotels cost only around $30 USD per night or less, and you could get a 2-hour massage for $6 USD! (In America, a 2-hour massage would easily cost $160+!) So of course I got to thinking, why don't people just work for a little while and make some money, then go and retire in Thailand? Do people do this? It seems like people don't do it unless they're in the army and happened to be stationed there for a long time, or some reason like that.
Retire in Thailand? Is it economically advisable for an American to retire in Thailand? What are Immigration requirements (i.e., how long am I allowed to stay on a tourist visa)? Are apartments or condo's reasonably priced near the ocean, etc.?

My father is collecting his retire. pension in his BofA account, but he lives in Thailand? Well, my father lived in the U.S. since the early 1970's as an architect since immigrating here with my mother from Thailand. Anyhow, he moved back to Thailand in 1995 and in 2003, he came to visit me in the U.S. While he was here he had applied for his retirement pension directly deposited into a Bank of America account. Then, he moved back to Thailand and has been there ever since 2003. He withdraws funds from his account (that he receives from his retirement pension), then his debit card expired. He tried to log into his account with on-line banking. He called the Bank of America phone # to apply for another card. Then, a representative called him on my phone and he called them back from Thailand. They wanted to verify if he, indeed, had requested another card. They asked him all sorts of questions to verify his identity - including some weird, obscure facts that he must have given them at the time he opened his Bank of America account while he was here: like the answers to obscure questions like "What county did your daughter live in at (an address I never lived at before)?" He said they asked him some question that he didn't have an answer for because I had never lived at this address. They hung up on him, saying he couldn't answer their verifying questions. He's really frustrated because he can't get a renewed debit card - thus he can't withdraw any money! What should he do? B of A is moot on this point saying he needs to remember this (errant) fact about a residence that I allegedly lived in according to their records? Also, they wanted him to remember his brother's birthday (he has 13 brothers)! FYI. It's not that he can't remember the answers to the questions (all he needs to do is ask his one brother what his birthday is), it's that B of A is asking a question with an answer that is unanswerable because it's asked in error. They asked what county of residence I lived in (that I never lived at). If he were to say that his daughter never lived at this particular address, they would say that he is not passing the verification tests. Arg!
Where to live for early retirement? Does anyone have any suggestions for cheap places for a Canadian to make an early retirement to? I'm considering China (Shanghai), Thailand, Argentina and Uruguay. Any suggestions on ways to estimate my living expenses in different countries or other cheap places to live (stretch a fixed income as far as possible)? Which country would you recommend retiring to and why? I'd want to have high-speed internet, air conditioning and my own living space (exclusive use of a kitchen and bathroom) at a minimum.
What do I do if the interest goes up - how do I pay back? Hi, I am about to retire to Thailand and I am worried that if I put in a R85 (interest without tax taken off) and the interest rates improve later (if they do) and it pushes the interest above my tax allowance, what can I do, with me being out of the country The interest and a small pension are my only income and they are about £700 below my allowance at this moment in time.
I am going to go and stay in Thailand for a short while. Do you know of orphanages in Thailand ....? ... I could help at? I have retired early in life and I have some time and funds and I would like to find out about orphanages in Thailand. Thanks

I am gay and 40 and I am going to Thailand for a few months. I have never been to Thailand before ...? ... as we all know the gay scene in the west can be quite diecriminatory to men over 40. Someone said to me that gay Thai men actually like guys over 40 and that it isn't an 'issue' over there. Is this true. I am quite young for my age (40) but even so, many of us in the USA feel over-the-hill and overlooked by a USA gay scene that is very competitive and discriminatory. I have just eneded a very long term relationship and hate to feel I may be on the shelf. I have retired early and may even be able to retire to Thailand. Will I have a chance at new love in Thailand as a reasonably good looking 40+ year old? I have read this 'don't fall in love with a Thai' advice so many times! Are they that adorable? It's obviously a problem that many westerners fall head over heels with Thai men and women! What is the reason for this? I have read this 'don't fall in love with a Thai' advice so many times! Are they that adorable? It's obviously a problem that many westerners fall head over heels with Thai men and women! What is the reason for this?

Will Mommy Government bail me out too??? Geez folks, I trade the futures markets, and sometimes I lose money at it. Will I get a bail-out too??? I sold my house in CA in 2005, not too far from the top of the market, paid off all my debts and semi-retired to Thailand. I did this for several reasons; I saw that the housing/lending phenomenon was going to blow up. I also did it because I had way too much debt, had kids to put through college. My move turned out to work out pretty good. I met the responsibilities to my kids and honored the agreements I made in taking out various loans. Now I see that all the whining and moaning from those who acted irresponsibly in their lending and borrowing, may get Mommy Government to bail out their greedy behinds. This what the US has become; a place where if you scream and cry loud and long enough, or if you're a dipsh!t MBA on Wall Street lending $$ to people who you know can't pay it back, you run to your Mommy when the sh!t hits the fan. What a bunch of gelly-spined, limp-wristed wimps.
what are your retirement plans? I am retired in Thailand. The weather is good, prices are cheap - lots of smiles - are you moving or staying put?

Bank transfer from USA to Thailand? This is a question for USA expats, particularly retired expats living in Thailand. I am planning to obtain a retirement visa and live in Thailand in a few years. I need some rather specific information about personal finances. I have a checking account with a bank checking card here in the USA. I use the bank card just like a credit card. For safety, I have a $200 per day limit on the card. My retirement check is direct-deposited to that account every month. I can use the bank card in Thailand, but there are fees. On a future visit I plan to open a bank account in Thailand. So, here’s the question: How can I transfer money from my bank account in the USA, say every 1 to 3 months, to a Thai bank account, without paying fees, or at least having to pay the minimum of fees? And, since I am thick as a brick, you can bet you'll see me posting this question several times, in altered forms. So..Khun Bob...what bank are you using that charges only 1% for international transactions?

Thailand or America? This question is in this catagory because there's not an exact one for this question, and as well I'm seeking friendly advice from fellow friends of Q&A: For the past decade I have lived in Thailand. Now, at 34 (and recently just turned 34) the question arises ''Go now or stay forever?" I am not married, no children...and I have my ups and downs here, just as anyone may have anywhere...yet I wonder if I should be concerned about one day needing to retire. Are there private retirement agencies that have a plan towards one's retirement if not working in thier own country? My taxes are so always excempt...so there won't be anything to draw from in the 'Golden Years'. Finding love would be impossible for me in Thailand...yet possible in America, however that is not a main concern, yet a reality to consider. I simply cannot decide..and answers of 'which place makes you most happy' does not help.If I knew, it would be decided. I'm wondering: If any of you had a choice, which+why?
i have been married to a thai citizen for 9 years, we both want to live in thailand when we are 65 , retired,? we want to live permanently in thailand, i am an australian citizen, she is a thai citizen. can i live there with her in thailand, and what are the requirements? iwill get a pension of 24,000 baht per month, and she will get a part pension of about 12,000baht per month, thats about 36,000 baht per month. we both dont own any property in australia, but she owns a townhouse in bangkok. we want to spend our retirement together in thailand until we die. can you give me all the information i need? thank you. p.s, the pensions are from the australian goverment as she has also been an australian citizen for 13 years.

What positive changes are people making in Thailand? I think of how poor the people in the area were I stay and I have a couple of projects that I want to do. I was wondering what things other farang and Thai are either working on or have conceptualized to improve peoples (or animals) lives in Thailand. My wife and I have plans on building a toilet and shower house over at a wat on the Lao side of the river. Part of our effort will provide a pump so they can get clean water. I remember a guy saying he was retired but wanted to teach English but the Thai Government wouldn't let him because of his retirement Visa. I wrote to the Bangkok Post, the American Consulate and the Thai Ministry of education. I'm sure others are doing a lot more. I'd like to spend more time doing things that make some kind of difference than spending 22 hour a day answering questions on Yahoo.
If I want to marry a girl in the phillipines do I have to pay off her parents? I understand this is the custom in Thailand but is it the custom in Phillipines and do you have to pay to take care of the parents when they retire?

Where can you retire on $25,000 a year? I'm retired, and headed for divorce (it's inevitable). I already have a pretty good indicaiton that after the divorce I'll be able to generate about $25k annually. I'm 55 years old and in declining health. I'd hoped to go to Thailand, but now I'm not so sure I'll have the assets for living expenses. What are some other countries where an expat American can live with a low income and have a decent quality of life?

A year ago he definitely retired, he asked me to quit my job and sale the house in England (house is in his name). We move to Thailand and he bought a new condominium (in his name), also a new car. When we early were in Thailand he betrayed me by slept with the same prostitute every week one day a week. I used to caught him, he apologist and I forgive him. And then I found out later after nearly a year that he still see her and sleep with her. I’ve got all video tape when he go to see her and take her out from the bar and go to her apartment together, also the telephone bill which show that he phone her every day, 4 times a day. The home, an investment? Or a life draining, time consuming, vacation stealing nightmare? Everyone once in a while I like to debate with home owners about there "great investment". For years, I've been badgered by others to pursue the "great invesment". I still choose the "Life investment". Life investor: Well...I'm going fishing and camping for a couple of weeks...Cya ! Home owner: Wow, thats great but I got fix the plumbing and do some painting and I need to be at work to pay the mortgage ! Life investor: I'm taking off to Thailand to backpack for 45days in a few months Home owner: When I 'm retired someday I hope to get over there too... I could go on and on.....lol. Bangkokslim reminding you to: Invest in your life, invest in the market, be free. P.S. Don't join the endless zombies ! Buy a home...buy a home....you must buy a home....lol.

Is it true that you have to pay thai parents if you want to marry their daughter? My thai girlfriend told me that this is normal. How much is average to pay them in us dollars? Oh and then she mentioned that they don't have social security in thailand and that it is the kids job to pay for them. Is this normal. What amount per month would we pay after they are retired? Unbelievable!
Inheritance law in Singapore? Hello there, I am retired and about to transfer my money to a bank in Singapore. I live partly in Europe and Thailand and have a son with my common law partner. I recently made my last will where I stated that 75 percent of my fortune should go to my son and 25 percent to my common law partner. Now I hear different stories about the inheritance tax in Singapore. (Even from my bank). Some people say there is no inheritance tax at all. Some say there is. Others tell me that it has been extremely difficult in the past for the heirs to get their money out of Singapore. Apparently they even had to go to court in some cases. Maybe somebody can give some information. Otherwise I must probably hire a lawyer in Singapore. Which is never cheap as we all know. Thank you very much for your replies. Lars Benvenido

¡¡Soy Española!! commotion in spain for a monster case of Josef Fitzl,? " Conmocción desde España "The case of Josef Fitzl, the Austrian retired electrician who has kept locked in a basement for 24 years for her daughter and three children he had with her has shocked world public opinion. These are the 50 keys of what happened,'' August 1984. Josef Fritzlar, an electrician in Austria 50 years, holds her daughter Elisabeth, 18, in the basement of his home in Amstetten, Austria. 2. Amstetten. Locality Austrian located northeast of the country, in Lower Austria, with about 22,600 German-speaking inhabitants. Birthplace of Josef Fritzlar, 73 years ago. At a nearby gas station, on the motorway from Vienna to Salzburg, he worked Elisabeth in the early 80. 3. APRIL 2008. Kristen, a girl aged 19, was taken to hospital with symptoms of being seriously ill. It is one of the daughters Elisabeth, now 42 years. Kristen is unconscious, but it has a note in which his mother asks for help for the young. Doctors seeking unsuccessfully history of the patient. Notice to the Police and history come to light: Josef Fritzlar has remained closed to Elisabeth for 24 years and has had seven children with her. Three of them (the very Kerstin; Stephan, 18, and Felix, 5) have shared captivity with the mother, another died, and the remaining three (Lisa, 15 years; Monika, 14, and Alexander, 13) lived with Josef and his wife, Rosemarie (Elisabeth's mother), on top of one's own home. Rosemarie ensures that knew nothing. 4. Arrests. On April 27, police announced the arrest of Fritzlar, accused of unlawful restraint and sexual abuse. Shortly before, Josef had released her daughter and their children-grandchildren. The detainee confessed the whole. Then, decides to remain silent until the trial. 5. DNA. Two days later, police confirmed that DNA tests conducted to confirm that Fritzlar is the father of the children of Elisabeth. 6. Abuse. Elisabeth suffered the first sexual abuse of his father in 1977, when she was eleven years. Since then she was raped and beaten systematically. He spent the first nine years of his confinement in a single stay of the basement (not until 1993 his father organized other spaces). Children born at that time witnessed continuing violations. Fritzlar kept handcuffed the first two days of captivity, and during the six or nine months remained tied. Police ruled that Josef Fritzlar had abused their children. 7. Background. Fritzlar was jailed for 18 months in 1967 for sexually abusing a young woman in Linz (Austria). He was also subsequently arrested for attempted rape and exhibitionism. In addition, the Police is investigating its connection with the murder, still unsolved, a woman, Martina Posch, 22 years ago. B 8. Search. When Elisabeth was locked up in 1984 his mother reported his disappearance, but, being older, the police thought that he had left home on his own will and no longer look it up. In fact, Elisabeth was locked up by his father after returning to his home after an initial escape attempt. 9. Babies. The three children who lived with Josef and Rosemarie were left on the door of the house shortly after birth (in 1993, 1994 and 1997). They were legally adopted by his grandparents. C 10. Carter. Fritzlar forced his daughter to write letters to keep the secret safe, especially any suspicions of Rosemarie. In the first, 1984, Elisabeth said she was going home and who did not seek. The three children who were appearing at the door of the house later iban accompanied by letters from Elisabeth in which ensured that he could not take care of them. 11. Wedge. Christine R., sister-in-law of Fritzlar and sister Rosemarie, says he always humbled his sister and mistreated their children. It also noted that Josef fell to the basement every morning, "supposedly to draw maps of some machines that wanted to sell." "Sometimes spent all night there. Now you know why," he added. 12. Dungeon. The dungeon built in the basement of his home by Fritzlar has about 80 square meters, and stretched under the garden of the house. It is accessed through a sliding door concrete than 300 kilos of weight, hidden behind a bookcase. There was a staircase entrance, a laundry room, two bedrooms, 3 square metres and a small kitchen next to a bathroom. Some parts of zulo had no more than 1.70 meters high. Ventilation came from a tube. 13. Code. The door of the basement could only be opened using a secret code known only by Fritzlar. The code shareholders an engine electronically. Fritzlar had activated a mechanism so that the door is opened only if he disappeared. 14. Construction. Fritzlar planned and built the dungeon one year before locking her daughter there, and after seeking permission to reform the building. The plans were approved, but did not include rooms in the basement. 15. Food. Josef was responsible for supplying food and clothing to locked. When was travelling left them food reserve. 16. CIEN. Police intended to interrogate hundred people who went through the house during these 24 years (Fritzlar rented rooms at the top). The investigation could go on for at least two months. Researchers can only work in the zulo followed for half an hour due to lack of oxygen. 17. Damn. Fritzlar, in custody, faces a possible sentence of at least 15 years in prison if found guilty of the charge of rape, the most serious of his alleged crimes, according to Austrian law. 18. Complications. The evidence analyzed so far ruled that no family member acting as an accomplice. Although the police insisted that Fritzlar acted alone, the head of the investigation stated that "someone in the family should know something." In this regard, the German magazine Brigitte said that one of the children living in the upper house had a copy of the key that gave the basement. Dubanovsky Alfred, a man who was 12 years renting a room in the house of Fritzlar, said that he saw another man fell next to his home in the basement. He added that this man was a plumber, and it drew attention because he was trying to enter prohibited in that part of the house. D 19. Drugs. Fritzlar told police he had locked her daughter to "protect and keep away from drugs". 20. Damage. Encerrado without natural light and isolated from the world throughout his life, the children of Fritzlar have developed various phobias and fears. They feel panic before the blue tones of mobile phones, traffic in the city ... In addition, they speak with gruñidos (communicate among themselves with a language itself) and prefer to crawl. The small, five-year, is "joyful and vital", and was fascinated to sit for the first time in a car. The two biggest need at least eight years of therapy. Experts have advised that for the moment, live in a house without windows. The three, like her mother, have skin problems. Kristen has lost almost all their teeth. 21. Fainting. Kristen was transferred to hospital after suffering a fainting, a result of illness endured. According to some sources, his condition is typical of the evils that can lead to having children at an incestuous relationship. Other media point to an infection. E 22. Ageing. Elisabeth looks 20 years over which it has. It has very white hair and skin almost transparent due to lack of sunlight. F 23. Pictures. Despite that have been disclosed both photographs of Josef Fritzlar as Elisabeth, the Austrian authorities have warned that any media to publish pictures or intimate details of the victims could be fined up to 20,000 euros. The authorities are studying the possibility of changing the name to protect the victims. G 24. GAS. Police investigating whether Fritzlar built a device to the zulo be filled gas in the event that something will happen to him. Threats to the gas locked in the dungeon if they tried to break free, which could partly explain why Elisabeth would not have never tried to attack you. H 25. Daughter. Elisabeth took their seven children in the course of 14 years. The conditions under which took place deliveries are still being investigated. The first, Kristen, was born in 1988, and Stephan was born in 1990. Lisa and Monika 'appeared' on the door of the house when they were nine and ten months old. In 1996 twins were born. One of them died within three days and the other, Alexander, 'appeared' also 15 months later at the door of the home. The last, Felix, was born in 2003. According to police, Fritzlar chose the children who took on his health status and its "inclination to mourn." I 26. Incineration. According said Elisabeth, the sister of the dead body was cremated by Josef in the garden. 27. Social impact. The case of Josef Fritzlar has shocked both the town of Amstetten, besieged these days by hundreds of journalists, as the entire Austrian society, especially when it happened barely two years after it was known the case of Natascha Kampusch, the young man who was kidnapped near Vienna for eight years. Some local media also have questioned one type of society in which there may be cases like this one: "Everything should be ashamed Amstetten.'s Neighbors closed their eyes" (Österreich), "The entire community must ask itself what is happening" (Der Standard). Some 200 people gathered in the main square of Amstetten carrying candles to express their "anger" and "deep sorrow" for what happened. "Every day spent in front of the house; should have done something," said one of the assistants. 28. Ignorance. Elisabeth has exculpado his mother from captivity and abuse he suffered, making sure that she knew nothing. "He never had anything to do," he said. J 29. JUDGE. "All the procedures were tough, the pieces were consistent," said Josef Schluegl judge, who granted in their day-to Fritzlar custody of a child, not knowing that it was actually his son, after reading a letter in which Elisabeth asked their parents to take care of small and not try to look it up. "Impossible to imagine that he was kidnapped and forced him to write," he added. K 30. KAMPUSCH, Natascha. The young Austrian 20-year-old Natascha Kampusch, who reappeared in 2006 after spending eight years sequestered, announced the donation of 25,000 euros for victims of Fritzlar. He also made an international appeal to raise money for the family. L 31. Lynchings. Fritzlar has been isolated in prison Sankt Polten before the danger that other prisoners might lynched. "The murderers and rapists of minors are seen as the lowest scale and deplorable, so often suffer attacks extremes," said Günter Mörwald, director of the prison. M 32. Monster. Most of the Spanish press has dubbed Josef Fritzlar as "The Monster of Amstetten." The French daily Le Figaro spoke of "the father of darkness". 33. May, RUDOLPH. It's lawyer Fritzlar. Counsel famous in Austria, Der Spiegel assured that their work is "to show Josef Fritzlar as a human being" after being presented as "a horrible monster and a tyrant sex." "When I saw him for the first time I seemed like a patriarch with good and bad sides, broken, very emotionally affected," he said. N 34. Nazis. The clinic where he recovered Elisabeth and their children, in the town of Mauer, also has its own dark past. During World War II, hundreds of people died here victims of euthanasia practices carried out by the Nazis between 1941 and 1944. Or 35. Other cases. We discovered in Amstetten has brought to mind other similar events, apart from the mentioned Natascha Kampusch. Gouardo Lydia, a French 45 year said they had been raped and tortured for 28 years by his father, with whom she had six children between 1982 and 1993, has shown its desire to meet Elisabeth. Moreover, the Austrian police reopen the case of 64 missing children in the country, five of which are missing from their homes for more than 10 years. P 36. Posch, Martin. He was murdered 22 years ago, when he was 17. His body was found in Lake Mondsee and so far the case has not yet been resolved. Fritzlar's wife then had a restaurant on the banks of the lake, not far from Amstetten. 37. Properties. Fritzlar enjoyed a comfortable financial position. He was registered as sole owner of six real estate, spread over several localities of Lower Austria. The list includes the family home, three buildings with many apartments and commercial premises, another house and a plot, with an estimated value of about 2.2 million. In one of these solar acquired by Fritzlar just three years ago, had moved tens of cubic meters of earth. 38. Imprisonment. In prison Sankt Polten, Fritzlar occupies a cell with a small window by which natural light enters, overlooking a garden. It has radio and television and can go for a walk once a day. 39. Profile. Joseph Fritzlar, 74-year-old retired electrician, has been described by police as a "very intelligent". His neighbors considered him a figure respectable within the community. His sister-in-law, however, he now qualifies for "despot". His neighbours claim that always tried to appear tan, flirting with women and that drew attention for the way he had exaggerated care of your garden. Others noted that ruled his home "as a lieutenant general," and that it was very jealous of their privacy. A former co-worker noted that "was always well dressed, as a diplomat." It belonged to the club's fishing Amstetten. Q 40. Complaint. Some of the tenants of Fritzlar complained that often disappeared as the refrigerator of the house. One of them said not understand because Fritzlar "seemed to enjoy a good economic situation." R 41. Reunification. Each child of Elisabeth (except Kristen, who remained hospitalized) and her mother met for the first time last April 27, at the clinic where they are receiving treatment. The centre's director described as "astonishing" and "exciting" the "ease with which came together", both boys among themselves, as with his mother Elisabeth. Rosemarie told her daughter that it felt and that he had no "no idea". S 42. Suicide. In prison, Fritzlar remains under surveillance 24 hours to avoid dealing with kill himself. 43. Sect. Fritzlar maintained all these years version of her daughter Elisabeth had been picked up by a sect, which obliged him to get rid of their children. The Chief of Police of Lower Austria noted that "this man did not leave any place without tying in order to deceive his family, his wife, their relatives, children and the world around him." T 44. Thailand. The German tabloid newspaper Bild Zeitung reported in a video that appears Fritzlar during a holiday in Thailand. It was recorded by a German friend who traveled with the Asian country. In the video you can see how Fritzlar, swimwear, receives a massage from a woman on the beach. In another scene, is preparing to eat a piece of meat and it looks very good mood. 45. Tourism. The Austrian authorities have shown their concern about the effect of tourism in cases like that of Fritzlar or Kampusch. Franz Grossglockner, head of the department of Tourism of Austria, told the AP agency: "Who will want to visit this country? For every wonderful summit snowfall or every cathedral we also have begun a world war, or choose to admit as xenophobes rulers, rapists and incestuous psychopaths in the headlines ...". U 46. Usurpation of staff. In at least one occasion, Fritzlar was going through his daughter Elisabeth to announce by telephone that his wife had left one of the babies at the door of the house. V 47. Summer. Fritzlar had planned to end the confinement this summer, according to British newspaper Daily Mail. Apparently, "no longer endure" his daughter, and was "tired of his dual life" and therefore had decided to return to Elisabeth of the alleged sect which allegedly had ido 24 years ago. W 48. WEB. Internet is the medium that is giving more complete and updated case. In www.20minutos.es there is continuous renewal with photos and videos. X 49. X. The case of 'monster Amstetten "is full of questions and unknowns still to be resolved: How is it possible that no member of the family, especially his wife of Fritzlar, suspected nothing, nor neighbours and acquaintances of the couple? Who Caring for Fritzlar was locked when traveling? How were the births in that zulo what happened when one of the children, especially infants being, fell seriously ill How justified Fritzlar before his wife extra expenditure on food, clothing , Etc.? all malaysian n politician read this...? P.S. Recalling quite some years back when the then M.C.A. deputy president Mr. Lee Kim Sai forwarded his research findings conducted by accredited historians to substantiate that it was in fact the Chinese & Indian enterprising traders that first set foot on Malaya Peninsular and not the Malay race (now proclaiming themselves as Bumiputras - Sons of the Soil ). As we all know now, Mr. Lee Kim Sai was put under I.S.A. arrest order ( but he manage to escape to Australia after being pre-informed ), strip off his datukship, force to retire from active politics. So, this is the reality in Malaysian Politics. You can't beat them because they are the incumbent holding political, military & increasingly financial power day by day . Is it legal to retire in Cuba? I'm a retiree looking for a place to live outside the US. I'm considering Thailand, but I've heard that Cuba is a good place also. But, if you move to Cuba, and live there, will that put you in hot water with the US government when you come back to the States to visit family?

Our parents live world apart. Where should we get our wedding?? Me and my fiance' are living in the FarEast and we are planning to tie the knot by the end of this year. However, the problem is my parents are now retired and living in Thailand and his are living in the States. Both of our moms has health problems and can not take long haul flights. Where should be the perfect place to get a nice wedding? I would love to have both of our families together. Or should we just forget about the wedding?! Please advise. Many thanks :) G
A former professor of mine, from 15 yrs. ago (not the one in the other? question) got talked to about stating his feelings about a certain nationality and immigrants from that nation. He may have been let go or maybe he was retiring anyway as he was there I think 23 years. What do you think of this? Do you know who it is? His name begins with an 'F' and he is from CSU-P. I used to really have a crush on him. He is a tall Scottish man and we lived two blocks over from him and I used to hope he would see me sometimes on his way to work or just his way up or on the side of my street . . .becuase he'd go that way a lot pretty much because he had to. He was/is married to a woman from Korea or Thailand or Malaysia . .or something. He still looked pretty good the last time that I saw him. He has two kids and they look just OK . . .because they got a weird mix of nationalities in them . . as his wife and he look so very different. I WANTED him. Oh I miss living there . .and those years . . sometimes that's the only way I can tolerate the present is to just live in the past in my mind. You can check . . I am there a lot. Just THERE living in the late 80's and 90's. I just GO there. And I am there. Forever . . .Driving my car to school . . .sitting in class. . .walking thru the halls . . .asking questions in class . . .adjusting my hair outside a professors office . . .loving all the professors in a father like way . ..I will haunt a Univ. when I am dead. Probably that one. But the sad thing is . . all those professors won't be there anymore. What should I do? I don't want to work . I really have some issues around working. I am no longer indepently wealthy. I need to meet a nice educated cooth man with enough money that I don't have to work . . and maybe one who is enough older than me that I don't have to worry about him getting tired of me or having the option to do better than me or even thinking . . . or even thinking that he has the option. Should I go BACK to that town . . and see who is still available from that univ. that I liked and then prursue them and try to get married. There is one that is really sad . . he looks like sh*t now. . .unfortunately . . .and he was a dream before . . . He grew his hair long and grey in a pony-tail in back and his eyes look Very Gaunt. He dresses in very long sweaters that he didn't wear before . . I guess to hid some love handle or something . . .but I swear, unless it's to hide a colostomy bag . . I'd rather SEE whatever he would be hiding. . .than him wear these funky hippy-looking sweaters. But I still LOVE him.. I used to hear "Your eyes" by Peter Gabriel and think of him on the way to school and after school. I LOVED him.
Should The state of New-york give tax incentive for house and building owner to make their house more beautuf Many middle class American go to live in France,Ireland or Italy when they have job opportunity there even when the salary is lower than in the united states.Although many Americans describe themselves as patriotic,no one would refuse an opportunity to go live in France or Glasgow,England. Europe attract more tourist than America because its beautiful. Why can't America put more money on making cities and regions more nicer.Car inspection are mandatory by many insurance company and refuse to make it can make your monthly payment higher. Why united states can't make law that make New-yorker improve their house by pouting flowers, painting it with a matching color that make the neighborhood beautiful.People who improve their house facade would get taxt reduction. Why America should stay ugly until American worker live the country in retirement and make loose more tax payer.A quarter of million retired American worker are already living in the Philippines and Thailand, bangkok.

will burmese colonels allow america airstrike or appoint aung san suu kyi as prime minister of burma? BURMESE MILITARY IS WORTH US$ 200,000,000,000 OR 60,000,000,000,000 KYAT AT MARKET PRICE. FOR 60 YEARS THE BURMESE GENERALS SPEND ABOUT 50% OF THEIR BUDGET TO BUY WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION. AMERICA COULD BOMB BURMA FOR ONE WEEK AND THERE WILL BE NO WEAPON LEFT FOR THE BURMESE COLONELS. BURMESE COLONEL WILL HAVE TO USE STICK TO FIGHT WITH THAILAND AND BANGLADESH. IF AMERICA BOMB BURMA THEN IT IS EASY FOR THAILAND AND BANGLADESH TO GRAP 32 PERCENT OF BURMESE LAND BECAUSE MINORITIES BELONG TO 32% OF BURMESE LAND. THESE MINORITIES CONTROL VALUABLE DRUG TRADE. BURMA, THAILAND AND LAOS FORM THE GOLDEN TRIANGLE FOR DRUG TRADE. THE MONEY IS GOOD AND IT IS DIFFICULT FOR THE GENERALS TO GIVE UP THESE POCKET MONEY. AMERICA MUST REMEMBER THAT THOSE DRUG FROM BURMA ARE DESTROYING AMERICAN YOUTHS. I THINK THOSE GENERALS HAD 20 YEARS OF FUN SINCE 1988 AND IT ABOUT TIME THEY RETIRE IN CHINA WITH THEIR DRUG MONEY. THOSE BURMESE COLONELS OR YOUNG TURKS COULD START A NEW BURMA.
Hillary Clinton: The Tragedy Continues? Clinton II? Hillary Clinton: The Tragedy Continues by Michael S. Rozeff by Michael S. Rozeff DIGG THIS Hillary Clinton is more and more likely to become the next President of the United States. The price of her nomination contract on Intrade has jumped to the 60 area, meaning she has a 60 percent chance of winning the nomination. No one else is even close. The market thinks that Bill Richardson is likely to be her running mate. Speculators think that this ticket will win the election, although they are not as sure of that. They are very sure that Democrats will retain both Senate and House control. A Clinton II presidency will affect taxes, stock and bond prices, dollar and gold prices, and a great deal else. Speculators and planners will be watching closely her every word in order to discern the material impacts of her possible policies. Long before she is elected, asset prices will begin to move in anticipation of potential legislation and policy changes. There are certain areas that Hillary Clinton is very interested in that will affect many Americans and the portfolios of many Americans. Interesting questions arise. Will Bill Clinton serve in a new Clinton administration? Will he have a marked influence on Hillary’s policies? Will her fiscal and monetary policies look like his? Will she be her own woman? I will briefly summarize a few of Hillary’s currently indicated directions. This usually is a valuable exercise. Elected officials often follow the signals they emit during their campaigns. But it is an iffy exercise. Events overtake a president and lead to unexpected twists and turns. I also cannot resist offering a few of my own jaundiced reflections. It is extremely difficult to watch multiple American tragedies unfolding before our eyes and not say something about them. And who knows? Maybe Hillary or someone close to her will read this and see some light. Hillary would like to end the war in Iraq. Bill Richardson even more plainly wants to end it. The idea is to shift the $450 billion going into warfare into domestic concerns like health care, education, and energy. Such a platform is a sure winner. But Richardson as Vice-President will have limited influence. Hillary will find herself drawn into the foreign policy game just as her husband was. Hillary as President will curtail U.S. military operations in Iraq but not end them. She has promised to end the war, but at the same time she promises to transform and continue it. She says she will retain a significant force and continue to try to produce country-wide military and police forces, attack terrorists, and provide materiel. She will call for more equipment for the area and fewer personnel. She will talk tough to Iraq’s leaders. Her promise to end the war is an empty one. Since she and the U.S. establishment want to produce a stable Iraq allied to the U.S., she can’t end the war because that will produce the opposite consequences. Iraq will disappear and be replaced by a partitioned country with many frictions: between Iranian and Iraqi Shiites, between Iraqi Shiite factions, between Sunnis and Shiites, between Turkey and Kurds, etc. The bloodthirsty terrorists of Al-Qaeda will ally themselves with whomever they can to lever their position. Events in Iraq are unpredictable. Both the U.S. and Hillary are willing hostages to them. Even under the cover of a democracy, a strong man could arise, another Saddam. Which way will Hillary go? Will she bite the bullet and withdraw, letting the chips fall where they may? Or will she succumb to the urge to shape events and control Iraq’s future? Like her husband, she will do both. She will straddle the issue. Just as he bombed and bombed, she will try to substitute equipment for manpower. She will withdraw some men but not all; and she will not withdraw power and interference. She will compromise between those voices urging faster exit and those counseling disaster if she withdraws too quickly. In other words, the war will drag on until the balance of power shifts to install a regime or regimes that keep power. Hillary on the Iraq War is a continuing disaster. She will not exercise a foreign policy leadership that will make a real difference. She has already joined others in her party who promise to heat up U.S. efforts in Afghanistan. Adjacent Pakistan also continues to heat up as another hot spot. On energy, Hillary is a booster of the Apollo Alliance. She supports renewable energy sources, ethanol, biofuels, clean coal, and measures to reduce global warming, which are all popular but costly, wasteful, and ineffective ideas. None of these measures will reduce America’s oil dependence, as she claims to want. Only a big shift into nuclear power will accomplish that. However, she is at best lukewarm and/or really cold on nuclear power plants. She thinks the public is against them ("so hard to site them") and that they cost too much ("so hard to fund them.") Since she could exercise leadership on nuclear power and isn’t, she is unlikely to go in that direction. Instead, in a speech on Feb. 26, 2007, she called for an Apollo Project for energy that would end "tax breaks for big oil" and subsidize research and development of clean fuels. Hillary on energy is a disaster, but so has been every administration for a long time. U.S. energy policy is a huge and stupid tragedy, and Hillary will play a lead role in continuing it. Hillary hasn’t moved an inch on HillaryCare. The Congress, with benighted public support, has moved in her direction, enacting universal health care piece by piece. Hillary will extend health care benefits and introduce price controls on insurers. She wants full and universal coverage for all Americans. On paper everyone will have health care. In reality, there will be rationing and price controls. American health care will deteriorate even further. Will Americans care? Will they fly to India or Thailand where they can get better, faster, and cleaner health care? Hardly likely. Unlike Canadians suffering with their national health care system who have been coming here, where will Americans turn? They will wait, suffer, and die before their time. The only bright side is that this will provide a background for those who see some advantage in running against the system and drastically changing it. Nothing less will suffice at this point than completely dismantling the health care monstrosity. Hillary on health care is a continuing disaster. George Bush II played his role in this tragedy by introducing the prescription drug benefit and failing to reform the system in any way. In another sign that she does not understand economics and/or wants to make political hay, Hillary wants women by law to be paid the same as men are. This sounds good to untutored American ears, who think this is a matter of simple justice. However, if women were systematically being underpaid for no good reasons, wouldn’t those same businessmen who are supposed to be so greedy rush in and hire them at $0.75 on the dollar? Shawn Ritenour explains some of those good reasons for men-women pay differentials here, and Thomas E. Woods, Jr. explains that "never-married women of comparable education and experience and who work full time have the same incomes as their male counterparts" here. Raising women’s pay above the market level that takes into account compensating differentials (related to such factors as on-the-job training, length of tenure, job interruption, and time spent with family) will put women out of work. In an interesting pair of contradictory statements from the Hillary campaign site from which I draw her positions, we are told that "Hillary has stood firm as an advocate for a woman's right to choose." Hillary favors Roe v Wade. She is in favor of abortion. But a few sentences later we read this: "As president, Hillary will continue her lifelong fight to ensure that all Americans are treated with respect and dignity." Apparently, babies in the womb do not count as Americans. Moreover, Hillary is known as a champion of children: "America is ready for a president who fights for our children." She has a long slate of legislation relating to children, including a new proposal to extend pre-kindergarten schools to all 4-year-olds. Why then does she not favor the babies who would be born? Maybe it’s because they can’t vote. Hillary on the American family is yet another continuing disaster. In the Clinton II realm, the government will step up its invasion of the family. The State long ago crossed the boundary into American family life in a largely unnoticed and unheralded stealth invasion. Hillary will extend the State’s victory over the American family and consolidate that control. Like all presidents, Hillary can be counted on to push for a number of favorite hobby-horses. Hers are many. They include public schools in overseas countries, support of Israel, government reform, voting reform (including same-day registration and an Election Day holiday), and working with the U.N. Political government under Hillary will grow larger, just as it has under just about every president ever elected. This process can go on for some time as there is a lot of ruin in a country. When major American establishment figures start talking different games than the ones we’ve been hearing for the last 100 years, then we’ll know that some real change is in the air. This has not happened yet. In the meantime, the only consolation is that the State is running into diminishing returns. We can see this in the projected deficits to fund the government’s programs. We can see it in the difficulties and cutbacks in countries overseas. Economics is a constraint on how far the State can go. Clinton II will be operating under constraints. Unfortunately, they are not yet tight enough to prevent her from continuing the tragic policies of her predecessors and placing her own personal stamp upon them. August 18, 2007 Michael S.
