retirement?
someone i know retired and only 2 person 's acknowledged her, and yet they email her call her etc. another words smiling in her face and yet didn't even give her a card. any advice?

- Advice about what? So her friends/co-workers didn't do what you thought they should to acknowledge her leaving? If you like her, keep on seeing her. Take her out to tea or go to the movies.
- Retirement doesn't mean the end of the world. Maybe she didn't want a card, but wanted to be kept in touch with everyone. I'm not sure what kind of help you are looking for.
- No fanfare for me either. I retired in a very quiet way. Actually no one knows that I am retired and receiving S, S. checks. I'm in Florida for the winter and having a good time.

- It is very likely that they were just envious of her retirement. It sure is a sinking feeling when you see a fellow co-worker that is now free to start a new chapter in their life by moving away and enjoying the rest of their life while you are stuck working for a living.
