Can u withdrawl from a CALpers account?
If I am the ex-wife of someone who owns a CALpers retirement account and have been awarded thru divorce court to receive 50% of that can I withdrawl monies even though he has not retired and will not retire for another 12 yrs. (probably)

- yes you can but you only get 50% of the actual dollar amount that is in there so even though cal pers upon retirement matches it dollar for dollar if you with draw early you only get half of what is actually in there and when you do with draw early next year on your taxes they will tax you very high on the amount of money you get so you will need to put some aside and i do believe the state charges you a penalty at tax time for taking this money out early also we found this out the hard way when my husband changed jobs and so we took the money out and then had to pay a lot on it at tax time the following year! so he needs to contact then and let them know he wants to with draw on it and why or you can and they will do it for you! good luck!
