how do missionaries save for retirement?
Public Comments
- they let God provide knowing that they r doing His will
- that's a position they don't take. get it? missionary position har har har
- They solely rely on God for their housing, food and supplies.
- It depends on which agency sends them. Most would have a system of retirement savings in place, such as Guidestone Financial Services of the Southern Baptist Convention. Those who go on their own would presumably have to get with a personal financial planner and figure out a retirement plan along the same lines as small business owners and other self-employed persons.
- They actually rely on the Lord for everything that they need to live. Now that's true faith.
- My brother was a missionary for years, they have a retirement program just like any other business. Also, considering they received free housing while in the mission field they often can save quite a bit of their salary for later use.
- they can also go to places where precious metal and gems are cheaper and smuggle them back to the U.S.
