How is the best way to save money?
Every month when i get my allowance, 2 days and there is nothing, i feel like i am spending them very quickly.................. What should I do

- tell your parents to withhold your allowance and give the whole lot to you once or twice a year. or better yet have them put it in the bank.

- Think of one relatively expensive thing that you want to buy. Then every time you want to spend your allowance, think about wanting that item, and you'll be more likely to save your money.
- Get you allowance weekly instead of monthly. It will be easy to plan your spending then. When you get a larger amount of money you tend to spend on more expensive but unnecessary things. So tell your parents to divide the allowance into four and give every weekly.
- Set a goal to work towards. Let's say you get $20 a week allowance. Decide on an amount you are going to work towards to save. Let's say that amount is $100. Next you need to decide how much is a realistic amount you need of that $20 to spend. Assume you need $15 of it to do things and buy whatever you want/need for that week. That leaves you with $5. So, make $5 the amount you will "pay yourself" each week. When you get your allowance, PAY YOURSELF FIRST. Find somewhere that you can put that $5 and you won't touch it. Make sure you forget that $5 ever even exisisted unless there is some DIRE emergency where you would need it (there shouldn't be). Once you reach the $100, make a new goal. If your allowance is increased, see if you really need to spend any more of that money. If you don't, and $15 was fine for your spending money of the week, then put the $5 plus the increase into your "SAVINGS" fund. This is what I found to work the best for me. The key is always pay yourself first and work with what you have left. You will need to sometimes make sacrifices, such as not seeing a movie that week if you want to buy a new pair of ear rings (or whatever it might be), but that is what it takes to save money. In the end you will feel rewarded. Good Luck!
