I am 12 and I want to save money. How can I save MONEY!!!?

Alright. The things I want to get are: ~iPod Nano. (How much would that cost?) ~Digital Camera ~Cell Phone (possibly picture phone or RAZR) Any Body got any ideas? I have an iPod but I want a different one. I was shooting for a digital camera a couple months ago. How do I save money for each and still have a dollar or so to spend. I usually get 20 a month or 5 a week. It depends. Any ideas. I live in the country so if its like a garage sale... it wont be a ble to happen. Okay thanks. LOL. ~Niki

  1. Dont spend it!
  2. u don spend it>?
  3. Maybe there is something that you can do to earn money from your neighbors. Perhaps you may do babysitting, ironing, sewing or baking. If you live where people maintain a lawn, you might rake leaves or perhaps learn a skill like designing and planting a knot herb garden. You can also use your computer skills to design customized wedding or party invitations, make scrapbooks for others and design websites.
  4. Save whatever you can and sell items you don't want anymore on eBay. Any books laying around -- sell on half.com Get someone who has a Costco membership to get your Nano there (cheaper). Cell phone is $99 or cheaper depending on your plan. Buy a used digital camera.
  5. Every time you get money take half of it and put it into a jar and act like you never got it. When you get older do the same, but use a bank account. Once the jar gets full, take half of it and have fun, and put the other half into a bank account for your future (college, whatever). Always remember, pay yourself first. When I was your age I had a paper route, but you live in the country and that wont work. I worked from when I was 14 to 18 at various restaurants and gas stations, and at the time I wanted to have fun with my money, but you have no idea how happy you will be if you save it up for your future, I sure wish I had.
  6. give your extra money to me, i'll keep it for you
  7. IPod Nano: $149 - $249 depending on how much memory you want...but if you're only getting $20 a month, I would try and save for the $149. Digital Camera: $199 for a 3.2 - 4.0 pixel camera...get a canon powershot...great camera for a pretty good price. Cell phone: so you probably are going to need a pre-paid cell phone...the cost would be about $200 for the phone and then you'll have to pay monthly for the use of the phone. That's about $600-$700 you have to save....that means you have to save your whole allowance for 30 months.... girl, if i were you I would just beg your parents and tell them that you really want those things...or tell them to get one of them for you for christmas, birthday. or get a part time job...do u babysit?
  8. The first step to saving money is earning it. That means get a job. lol No, but seriously. I came from a middle-class family but had to work to get what I wanted. I started off by offering to mow neighbors lawns for a few bucks here and a few there. Then, I started working at the baseball fields scorekeeping or being a lineman/referee for youth soccer games. Next thing you know, I had more money than any of my friends and I felt good about myself because I was the one who made it possible. It will also help to start you off with good work ethics. If my parents never made me earn what I got, I wouldn't be making 100 g a year without a college education. And I'm in still in my 20's. Good luck!
  9. Go out back, dig a deep hole, put your cash in a waterproof container and bury it.You can't afford a Razr at $20.00 per month, even if you could no would sign a 12-year old up for service. You can't afford the chepest cell phone agreement which will cost you $40.00 per month. You need to get a grip on reality, what does a 12-year old need a cell phone for, to talk to your friends as you walk home from school?
