retirement oz

When Bonds passes Aaron this season for the career N.L. HR record will that give him the window to retire?

Four more and Barry passes Hank in one record... Home Runs hit by a National League player. Will he retire #1 in the N.L. and #2 in MLB? Or stick around one more season and take both records when he goes?

  1. He'll unearth the remains of babe ruth and take a whizz on it, after slapping Henry Aaron's wife.
  2. I prefer that he announce his retirement and never wear any uniform again. Hank Aaron did not use steroids - why should Bonds be glorified because his **** shrunk and his trainer is locked up?
  3. no
  4. Who cares? He is a cheater and a disgrace to the game. That's what he is and that's how he will be remembered.
  5. No way, his EGO is too big.
  6. Who cares! McGuire/Sosa was the last time anybody outside of SF cared. Then steroids and no one cares about the bulked up fakers. It's too bad that someone with a personality of a Jim Thome couldn't be in Bonds place. Bonds will go the way of OJ.
  7. I live in SF and can't wait to see him gone.
  8. bonds - aside from his steroid use - he will only be seen as the guy that broke the record - whereas The Great Bambino & Hank Aaron will always be loved by fans everywhere, because they weren't a-holes to the people that made them who they are today... Unless a sports player is fan friendly he deserves NO recognizition in my book - which is why I'm not a tiger woods fan either.. I don't think it really matters if he retires or not - people don't even go to games to see him break records...
  9. he won't retire until he breaks the record
  10. Any of Bonds' records are dubious anyway, but he should quit now since no one likes him and the Giants suck. GO DODGERS
  11. He says he wants to play again irregardless of the record (yeah suuuuurrrrreeee!) BUT will anyone want him? He almost has to DH. He's a liability in the OF. No contender will take him. The Giants may be forced to sign him. He'd have to play for a cut rate. He'll be a freak show and when if he does break the record no one will know how to react. It's like when Nixon died and no one wanted to speak ill of the dead. He'll finish like Ruth and Aaron limping around for some last place team which I guess is fitting. But he'll need to play about the same as he did this year to get to 756 and that is doubtful.
  12. wow who cares about that record? he has his eyes on perhaps the biggest record in all of sports.755..he is a jerk..and i bet he wants to stick it to every reporter that said he doesn't deserve and can't achieve it..plus his knees are looking a bit better..he can play one more year
  13. Barry Bonds sucks.
  14. no
  15. THIS SEASON????? YOU THINK HE WILL HIT 27 HOME RUNS THIS MONTH?????? THAT WON'T HAPPEN IN 1,000,000 YEARS.
  16. I think he'll hang around and try for the Major League record. I think he's tired of being dogged and wants to get the record to hoist a big middle finger to the media and all of his detractors.
  17. wow, bonds haters everywhere. he was great before his alleged steroid use. he'll stick around because of the record. his numbers shouldn't be tainted in my opinion. steroids were not against baseball's rules until last year. i'm not a giants fan. as a matter of fact, he helped beat my reds last night. good luck on the record barry. besides, steroids don't help you see better. explain his .370 avg a few years ago.
  18. hes gonna see his family maybe come back for 2009 and hank aarons wife died and if she didnt a slap would kill her and ill beat u up but not to be mean but she be like 123 if still alive.shell die odf a slap.
  19. First off buddy, Its the all time Homerun record ... period. out of the whooole league. not just national.. jeeze.. and besides that, you obviously dont know jack about baseball cuz he isnt breaking it this season. Bonds isnt about that.. he will break the record next year sometime and keep playing.. he wants a world series ring. if that involves passing Hank Aaron and the all time homerun record, so be it. You clearly dont follow the sport. And if you do, you dont do it well.. Go back to following olympic curling where you belong.
  20. prob stick around next season for the all time record he has what 730 right and hank had what 733 in the nl right so im guessing he'll have like 735 at the end of this season and try fo 21 next season but i doubt he'll get it, he turns 43 or 44 next year so he will stick around but 2007 is his last if he stays around longer, he might just stay for a world series ring
  21. He wants the big one, i hope noone will sign him after this year and he is forced to retire. Let him go hit some homers in the minors. He is an a-hole and i wish i could catch the ball that passes Aaron if he does it, so i can stick a needle in it, set it on fire, and throw it back
  22. He won't pass Hammerin' Hank unless he continues to take performance-enhancing drugs. No one else finds it bizarre that he's matched his home run total for the first 5 months of the season in a single week?
  23. I think this egomaniac will continue until he breaks the record assuming he does not either get injured or the law finally catches up with him for perjury if nothing else. It is so sad to see this cheater continue and come closer with every HR to the most hallowed of all records in MLB, the HR record of Hank Aaron.
