Where couldI retire in the world with a net werth of 1/2 a million and live niseley for the next 40 years?

- I live in Bradenton, FL, and I can tell you right now that 1/2 million will go pretty fast. My husband and I are looking for a house, and the trash houses are in the low 200's. I wouldn't even live in the neighborhood. You'd need 300+ for a good home, and the living is quite high here, as it is in many areas of Florida. I think Rich P. has the right idea with Costa Rica. I hear it is very beautiful and affordable. And, the best part would be that the 2008 political stuff won't be on their TV channels. Soccerjl5 is WRONG! Longboat is ridiculously expensive. 1/2 mil for 40 years. You couldn't find anything to buy for 1/2 mil on the whole of LBK!
- Well, considering the rate of inflation over the last 40 years, you need to do some homework. Me, i'd be happy giving most of it away, then camping out in Jamaica, mon! Oh, and don't spend that half mill too soon...
