retirement oz

Where to retire, in the Phils?

I intend to retire in the Phils. I would like to get the 50 year lease, on a place in the middle of nowhere,, house or not,,in jungle, or not,, to have a garden, a small home. I prefer a clean place,,no polution, no noise, no millions of people,,perhaps near a small, humble village. I would like to be near the ocean, but not nessary. I can build my home, and just play in the garden,,,maybe teach english there, or gardening techniques,or how to bake bread, cakes, and cookies,,I have to stay busy, and fit. Of course,, Davao would not be a wise choice. I am familar with Luzon,, and am wondering about Negros Occidental,,sure would love to here from people, all over the Phils, about their places. I also would want to help the poor,,with what ever I can do. I simply wish to be a good guest, in your country, and live in peace, and respect. Hoping to here from many,,Steve,,pinoysunrise2001@yahoo.com a fast running stream for water, and electrical power would be a great plus,,,maybe a place to swim,,or make a swimming hole? I am alo a nudist,,and would love to work the garden nude,,but,of course, would not wish to offend anyone,,but,, I could make them a peephole!! Please be reminded,NO cities,, I wish to find a quiet country place, NO noise,,NO polution,, NO crowds,, and Cebu, is not country!

  4. negros oriental
  5. Pagsanjan Laguna or in Quezon province...You'll live like a king...
  6. I am retired USN and have been living in Iloilo the past 5 years with my wife. We are in the visayas (middle) of the Philippines on the Island of Panay. That's the big island directly south or Boracay. I would suggest you start your search here. Typhoons are rare here, but they are common in Typhoon season aka rainy season (July to November) on the main Island of Luzon. There are many providences here that come to mind that suit your needs. When I read your post, Antique province comes to mind immediately. My wife is a city gal, but I love it out in the country. Antique provence has good fishing and farmland. The provence where my cousins live is up in the mountains. Has a river right next to the local baranguay. It's paradise. No pollution, no noise and friendly people. It's name is baranguay carawasin and your post described it to a T. I love visitng there whenever I can. Be happy to take you there sometime. My wife is still afraid one day i'll visit there and never come home to Iloilo City. Guimeras Island (10 min pumpboat ride) across the harbour also fits the bill. Negros is only a 1 hour fast ferry ride away. I strongly suggest you join the yahoo group Living in the Philippines 3. There are dozens of expats like myself living all over the Philippines that can also help with suggestions on where to live and all things related to living here. Good Luck. Paul in Iloilo
  7. Hi Steve,I highly recommend Baybay,Leyte-it's a new city, nearest to it is Ormoc, then Cebu--we were assigned in this place & this city has the most foreigners in Leyte, because of the place, near the ocean as the name suggests and lots of nature around you,we're pioneering couples for a church here.i can introduce you to some foreigners/missionariies here.
