Where would be the best place(s) in the US to retire in 10 years?
We are looking for mostly warm weather but don't mind 3 seasons and a "little" winter... water would be great and probably near health facilities if we need them later in life. We are trying to plan the purchase of real estate that we would use in 10 years when we (hopefully!) retire. We live on the east coast of FL now... but the hurricanes, insurance and property taxes are getting out of hand. Thanks in advance!!

- I'm moving to Florida... NY aint the place
- arizona is becoming really nice and great my uncle and aunt just bought a condo down there and they said that there is alot to do like shopping ,swimming, and visiting landmarks
- I'm planning to retire (in about 10-15 years) to Cordova, TN. It is in East Memphis -- warm weather with a "little" winter, great shopping and local stores, nice homes that are relatively inexpensive, no state income tax and a short drive from both downtown Memphis (Beale st blues and bbq, FedEx forum, etc.) and Tunica (casinos) Also no hurricanes and reasonable property taxes.
- I would recommend the puget sound in Washington state. I grew up there as a kid and while you do get a bit of a rainy season in the spring it is mild all year long, doesn't have many natural disasters (might flood once in a great while but only next to major rivers) plus it has it all... great skiing, water sports, low property values, a big city (Seattle) if you are into that, plus tons of places for hiking, wine tasting, etc. Nice place to retire I think
- Central to North Louisiana. Shockingly well priced Real Estate. No property taxes on house valued below 150,000 and very little on the value above $150,000. Very low cost of living, ideal for retirees. No winter to speak of, weather is very similar to Florida. Happy Retirement!!
