How to achieve financial independent to retire early?

- 1) Drive a newer used car until it dies. Clark Howard on the radio said if you do that instead of buying a new car every three years, you can retire 5 years earlier with the same amount of money. 2) Invest monthly in a good no-load mutual fund. 3) Don't buy unnecessary junk. 4) Break bad habits like purchasing lots of clothing, shoes, going out to eat all the time, etc. 5) Buy a nice home and pay it off. 6) Learn to enjoy free things like a walk in the park or the $1 movie theatre. Your friends will laugh but you will laugh harder when you can retire early with a high net worth. They will be sick they didn't follow you.
