Should a person "retire" from work in todays world?

Should a person retire at all? Is there a benefit to retirement that we cannot get while we are "working"?

1. Spare time but we all need something constructive to do with it, or else it is boring and depressing! Live well and do good
2. Yes and no, retirement is not ideal for everyone, for some to continue working is a requirement for survival, however, people who can retire comfortably, should to make room in the workplace for a younger person just starting on their career path, in most companies when a position is vacated there is a benefit realized at entry level as the workforce toggles up a notch to fill the vacated spot.
