- because the party still pays them a salry, even if they not Prime Minister. they campaign to raise money for the funding of the party. Political leaders included. most of them are directors or involved in other companies too.
- MPs can give themselves pay rises (something they have no problem with) MPs get lucrative allowances and ways to scam the system MPs live in a world far different to the world we have to face The government treats our tax money as their money. It is all cronies and friend of a friend in the central and local governments. All thanks to the tax payer.
- The same way Richard Nixon was dead broke when he was elected and rich when he left office (although he left in disgrace).
- Because the Bourgeoisie business elites and upper middle class professionals still dominate politics today. Proof that capitalism and democracy are incompatible.
- expenses maybe!!?
- Many mps accept money from large companys to help sell their products
- Because they, the MP's, vote themselves huge salary rises even though they are just rubber stamps for the complete crap laws that emanate from Brussels and their expenses cover everything that they have to do in life.
