retirement oz

since highways are public owned, should the weight of passenger vehicles be limited so all have equal safety?

Is it fair that an older retired couple have to cross intersections in a Honda civic while wealthy some 17 year olds run red lights in a heavy full size SUV? Kind of like second hand smoke right? skip gets it. Ballot measures can be used by the majority against the minority as long as it's a public health issue. Should we start the ballot measure now ? to protect lives.all get the same weight of car?

  1. I'm not getting your question sorry. Are you saying we should all be driving the same car? Guess that would make for a hell of a day at the mall! How are you getting second hand smoke out of this?
  2. No, that's communism.
  3. Ah, the equal protection clause. I like that one! It shows up how idiotic the stretching (to breaking point) of the US Constitution is. EDIT: American_Wardog, I'm with you on this one. What I'd like to see is anyone buying an SUV being required to take a test to ensure they can actually handle that sort of vehicle. If they fail the test they just have to drive a normal car. Anyone failing might be imbued wit a little humility.
