- chris chelios, he's 45. That is absolutly outstanding if you are 45 years of age, and can still compete at the professional level, with 20 year olds.
- Chris Chelios, but the man will probably play until he is 50. He is currently 45, and has gone his first season without scoring a goal. He did twice before also, but he got injured and missed alot of time so that doesn't really count. He's still good defensively and is in good shape but the Wings need to get some of their young prospects in and move on.
- I don't agree with Sundin. Maybe Recchi as his numbers were inflated by Crosby. JR for sure. Chelios is pretty darn old but gets away with it as a Dman. My list has Jeff O'Neill, Peter Forsberg (stop holding teams hostage with that salary for a guy who is completely broken down, maybe do like Clemens and sign for part of the season and play-offs) Zednik, Belfour's age is catching up with him, CuJo's is too, some guys like Brashear may have outlived his usefullness.
- chris chelios
- Jagr is about to retire. Either this season or next season is supposed to be his last, can't remember when his contract expires. Why should Recchi? The Recching ball is still out there playing as hard as anyone out there. Yeah being on a line with Crosby helped him look good, but come on Crosby can only have so much of an effect as far as making him look good. Most of it was him and that he still has the ability. What about Hasek if we are just going to name players who have been around?
- I'm all for the retirement of Ed Snider as Managing Partner of the Flyers. Then, and only then, will the team make the quantum leap from 1974 to the 21st century.
- DONT SAY CHRIS CHELIOS! hes still a great player and hes on the best team
- I agree with roenick but not recchi. Recchi still contributes to his team alot. so does sundin and unfortunately jagr. Chris Chelios id 44 and is still playing. Eric Daze, even though he's missed three seasons due to back injury still hasn't retired and is on the blackhawks roster. yep, those three definitely had their game a while ago.
- Sundin, Recchi, Hasek, Chelios, Scott Mellanby, Sergei Federov, Stu Barnes, Ed Belfour, Owen Nolan, Curtis Joseph, Donald Brashear, Olaf Kolzig
- Well I agree about Roenick and Jagr. And please if Forsberg does to another team what he did to us here in Philly that is just wrong. I will be the first to admit he was amazing but if he can't solve this hole ankle issue he can't skate. I don't think Rechi is ready yet but there are alot of guys out there that are getting up there in age and from what I am hearing about the draft it dosn't look good. Like one of the worst drafts in over 20 years. But I have to agree with who ever said that we here in Philly need to retire Ed Snider to that we can jump from the 70's to 2007 best thing I have heard in years or at least since Bobby Clark stepped down!
- Chelios, because his is a whiner Bertuzzi, because his is a thug that should have been kicked out of the NHL long ago
- All of the above; except Jagr.
- You must be on some good drugs there girl or just don't know what your talking about. Recchi and Sundin are both still consistant offensive contributors. Do you realise that Mark Recchi was a major contributor to the championship winning team only 1 year ago? Who should retire? Markus Naslund and Chris Chelios, and I do agree with your Roenick point, because he is a total has bin. Sean Burke should retire again as well, didn't play all that great in L.A. To say that Jagr should retire is just stupid. He's easily still one of the most dangerous offensive players in the world, but he's on a soft team with lots of holes. One player can't make a team great, even if he is the best player in the world.
- Recchi, Forsberg, Ed Belfour, Alexei Yashin, Domanik Hasek, and maybe Gary Roberts(if the Pens win the Cup)
- Brind'Amour, Chelios, Recchi, Ricci, Leclair-if not already.
- Mats Sundin should not retire, not for another 4-5 years and jeff o'neill (as somebody else stated) shouldn't either, he's 31.
- hasek and NJ's goile
