Should Royce retire while still healthy or can he still compete?

- retire. it was sad seeing get his butt handed to him like that. go out while youre a legend..
- yes!!he should fight again.... He's a legend. He's the one who put Gracie Jiu jitsu to the map. He showed and demonstrated to us the perfect style in MMA and NHB which is gracie Jiu jitsu.he showed us that you don't have to be strong or taller to your opponent. But what is the key is the technique, the proper way of using techniques.....
- I personally would like to see him coach a team of up and coming MMA folks. He has a wealth of knowledge that would extend his status from not only one of the greatest of his generation but for decades after as well.
- i think he should stay. he is the best submission holder. he brings alot of moves 2 the ufc
- Retire. He is a pioneer but is no match for the fighters in the UFC today. If he is a real man he would retire, admit that the game has changed and bow out gracefully without making excuses.
- I think he should do like Pat Militech and establish a team of MMA fighters but from the Gracie academy. Should he retire? It's hard to say. Maybe he just had a bad night with Matt Hughes and wasn't feeling like himself. It's hard to look at the Royce of the past and say he's the same guy we saw get whooped by Hughes. If Royce was not having a bad night and that was the best he could do, then he should definitely retire. After all, it's not like he won't still get paid to fly around the world and teach seminars and all that good stuff. Even though he lost, he is still THE MAN in my book and has accomplished many things that MMA fighters have not accomplished today. He is one of the very reasons why we have such top notch atheletes in the sport today.
- I'm not sure if the question is entirely matched to the situation. He's not under contract to the UFC; he only showed up because they paid him 1.3 million to do it. He's got nowhere to 'retire' *from*. He teaches and coaches almost exclusively, and maintains a modest fight schedule in other MMA organizations that allow him to wear his gi and choose his own fights. Last night's loss didn't change much for Royce Gracie. He's going to hire a dump truck to pick up his huge sacks of money and go back to life as usual. :)
