- Not if you're Julio Franco! LOL If you can afford to, do it! If you can't take some easy, part-time jobs. I had to retire at 39 due to a bad heart, and haven't looked back.
- if your wife is happy for you to retire and you have enough money to financially support yourself/your lifestyle for the next 30/40 years, why not?
- I would think that would be a decision you and your wife should reach together. Factors to consider include whether she enjoys working or does it for the money; whether you will lose benefits like health insurance, dental insurance, etc. which will cost more done privately as an individual; whether you have enough money saved to support yourself, in failing health (later, hopefully much later), for thirty or more years; whether you'll be picking up all the slack in household chores once you no longer work; whether you enjoy what you do; whether your importance or self-esteem is work-dependent; whether you have plenty to keep you busy, enough to last years and years; whether you have a social network outside of work... It's a tough decision, and age is barely a blip on the radar.
- WTF dude
- if you got it like that, then hey
- Really good answer by Maryn. I think it depends also on, if you still find the job rewarding, as in "Some people live to work, others work to live." And some people retire and go on to other jobs, other interests. Have you always wanted to be a really good chef? Write the Great American novel? I say, if you an afford it, go for it. I simply love retirement and time to do all the things I always wanted to.
- No. You're never too young to retire. My dad retired comfortably at 48. Now he wakes up at the crack of "Price is Right" and spends all day fishing and playing golf.
- it depends on how your health is your never too old or too young to retire if you have the ability to work and good in health and enjoy life you can continue into your old age to work you can see the old people on the serious show on abc the farmers they work hard and have a good life and also at least you got a hobbie to look upon whe you retire at least you are not bored to your brain knowing what you want to do not walking around with thinking and wasting time with your life. i know people work and in one way it is a way of enjoying and meeting new friends surrounding you.
