- this isn't a good question. Are you mad that he isn't gonna bring in the dough anymore, and that you can't sit around on your ass all day?? suck it up and give your man a break.
- He should be going to Iraq instead of retiring.
- if he has a hobby or thing he likes to do Buy a gift card at Home Depot (for Example) or Camping World (depending on what his likes are)
- If in doubt give money in a card.
- I'd give him like a commencement pin or something that has to do with the military like a plaque with his picture in it saying you gave 25 years now you have 25 to fish. I don't know it sounds cute-lol
- If you ask me, getting him something that is based on the military is not only un-creative, it may get annoying to him. You should check out his hobbies or if he needs any tools for around the house now that he will be home more often. Give him a gift that is encouraging to his coming back and welcoming.
- We made a shadow box for my brother-in-law full of history of his unit in the time he was in along with his decorations and pictures. He loved it.
- My husband and I went to a retirement party (retired from Army) and we got him a gag gift... We got a box, rubber bands, and the little green army men. We laded the army men and rubber bands lose in the box and gave it to him, a card in the box explained that when he gets bored he can line up his army men and shoot the rubber bands at them. He got a huge kick out of it and everyone was in the living room shooting the army men... It was lots of fun and everyone got a kick out of it. We also gave him a gift certificate to a restaurant for him and his wife to have dinner on us...
- Give him a nice gift card & he can get what he needs or wants. Enclose it in a really nice card, thanking him for all his dedication for keeping our freedom & is well appreciated.
- Well, if you have time: 1) If he is married check with his wife, .maybe you can start a collection and do #2 together. You don't want to out do the wife's present. 2) If he is single and you have access/information about his old military units, get their patches and mount them in a frame with a few words. 3) In keeping simple write the President of the United States and announce his retirement (they send thank you notes). other than that any present is welcomed.
- Gift card, Home depot or Lowe's.
