Wedding Gift Ideas? Where do most people register? What unique / interesting gifts have you given / gotten? I need to find a gift somewhere in the $25-$125 range and don't want to get towels or stemware. Any ideas?

  1. One of the best wedding gifts that I got was a picnic basket full of utensils and neat picnic things. Not one of those you buy already pre-made, but one that the giver took time to assemble especially for us. She even painted our names romantically inside the lid. She knew my favorite color, and chose items with that theme. She included a book of humorous poetry we could share, and a bottle of our favorite wine. The gift said to us, "Don't forget to spend time still being romantic." The message was well received and appreciated.
  2. Get a big wicker laundry basket or hamper. Fill it with small goodies.....garlic press, some REALLY GOOD wooden spoons, a cool corkscrew, a pretty picture frame, silver candlesticks, monogrammed stationary, monogrammed pillowcases or towels, a couple of quirky wine glasses, a sushi set, chopsticks, some pretty tea towels...just try to find handy household items that are DIFFERENT and COOL! You should be able to find some neat stuff at www.uncommongoods.com too. Just make sure the items are unusual and they will think of you every time they use them!
  3. Well... When I got married 6 months ago I registered at Bed Bath & Beyond as well as Target. Let me think....a neat gift could be like a fondu set or something like that. Or maybe if you have the money, a big Kitchen Aide. I got one of those and I was so excited! I realize that you are probably trying to get someone something unique, however remember that they are just starting out and will need a lot of boring stuff.
  4. FOLLOW THE REGISTRY! You can pick a unique item from their list, but please follow the registry. A lot of people register at Bed, Bath and Beyond or Target. I like to buy a lot of little items and put them together in a basket or other useful container.
  5. Most of my just got married friends have Macy`s and Target for their registry...try some crystals for a change.
  6. get them a whole bunch of little stuff no one else would think about and put it all in a big box. it will be like a emergency box of stuff they can use when they run out of stuff when they least expect it...
  7. Target / Bed Bath Beyond / Kholes Maybe get Wedding album or Dinner Gift Basket
  8. I love Bed Bath and Beyond. Awesome stuff and good prices.
  9. The best wedding gift would be a gift card to Target or Walmart. This way the couple can spend it on whatever they need/want. These stores are where most people shop the most! Or you can get them a gift card for Olive Garden so the couple can eat out when they don't feel like cooking. You can buy discounted gift cards on eBay but hurry these gift cards sell fast on there!
  10. I think a nice gift would be a nice wedding album. I got that at my wedding and really loved it. As soon as I got my pictures developed from the disposable cameras I was able to put them right in the album and start cherishing the memories. Alot of people also don't think of that.
  11. Mine was at bed bath and beyond and Target. I would stick to what they have on the registry. They put it there for a reason.
  12. Friends of our registered at a camping store so we bought them camping supplies from their list. They LOVE to camp and already had a house full of stuff so this was perfect.
  13. The last wedding gift I pruchased was a wicker basket *everyone needs one* and I filled it with things like tylenol, rolaids, pepto and bandaids. Things you never think about when you get married and set up housekeeping. You never think about aloe until the drug store is closed and you have a really bad sunburn! They couple sent me a card a few months later thanking me because he had gotten sick at two in the morning and I had bought pepto that made him feel better! :)
  14. Most brides will register at Target, Bed Bath and Beyond, or LinensNThings, Macy's (or some department store in their area), Williams Sonoma. I have also seen couples register at Lowe's or Home Depot. Which isn't a bad idea because when they move into a house they can buy paint, flowers, or other things that usually aren't thought of until you own a house. Unique gifts could be art, silver, crystal vase or bowl, Joy of Cooking Cookbook (an essential in every kitchen for a novice to a pro) with a personal inscription and a nice wooden spoon.
