Any legit at home business or ideas for business to start?

I worked for a big corporation for almost 8 years, in the IT dept. for the last three. I lost my job due to downsizing. Unfortunately, since then I acquired a Felony on my record, due to an altercation on the road. (More or less a road rage incident). So now my chance at a reputable company has just about diminished. Any ideas for a fairly simple business to start? At home business? Any type of business? I am both mechanically and technically inclined, computer and internet savvy, overall I have above average intelligence (yeah right, I have a felony!) with an education. Any recommendations? Help!!!!!!!
