- From what I hear he is retiring completely after Fearless is released.
- I'm not sure, I had heard that Fearless would be his last action movie, but take a look at this - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0499556/ . It would be a shame if he did retire, he's a great film star, but I guess he is getting a bit too old for the part.
- His last martial arts film will be the film Fearless, known as Huo Yuanjia in China, named after the real-life founder of Chin Woo Athletic Association, who reportedly defeated foreign boxers and Japanese martial artists in publicized events at a time when China's power was seen as eroding. Jet Li has stated in an interview with the Shenzhen Daily newspaper that this will be his last martial arts movie, which is also stated in the movie's television promotions. However, he plans to continue his film career in other genres. Li's latest film, Rogue, began principal photography in the spring of 2006, re-teaming Jet Li with actor Jason Statham and action choreographer Corey Yuen. In May 2006, there was an official announcement that Jackie Chan and Jet Li would be making a movie together and are both working on a script at the moment. The film is rumored to be based on characters and storylines from the Chinese folk novel Journey to the West. The film is scheduled to start filming in early 2007, after Chan completes filming on Rush Hour 3.
- Hi wecho, From what I hear he is here's what his last movie is about: The son of a great fighter who did not wish for his child to follow in his footsteps, the bullied Huo Yuanjia resolves to teach himself how to fight--and win. Years of training enable him to ace match after match in his home region of Tianjin. But as his fame as a martial arts master grows, so does his pride. After an ill-advised fight leads to another master's death, members of Huo's family are slain in revenge. Grieving and ashamed, Huo wanders the country in shock. Near death, he is rescued by women from an idyllic village, and is offered simple kindness and generosity that help him heal and regain his equilibrium over a period of several years. Huo realizes that the future of martial arts lies in sportsmanship and not brutality, and he rejoins society to apply what he has learned. Returning to Tianjin, Huo takes steps to come to terms with his past and restore his family's name. His evolving, graceful Mizong (Missing) Fist method of fighting brings Huo renewed success, and he forms the progressive Jingwu Sports Federation. Taking note, duplicitous members of the Foreign Chamber of Commerce engineer a Shanghai tournament pitting Huo against four fighters, each representing the major foreign powers in China. Huo commits to the bout and faces off against, respectively, a British boxer, a Spanish swordsman, a Belgian soldier and a Japanese martial artist. What happened that day in 1910 has never been, and will never be, forgotten in China. Starring: Jet Li, Betty Sun, Dong Yong, Shido Nakamura, Collin Chou Directed by: Ronnie Yu Produced by: Bill Kong, Yang Buting, Jet Li Hope that helped you and he is "retiring". http://www.MovieBoxRental.com
- not...he's not!!!
- We can only hope he does retire. His martial arts movies have been lackluster at best and his reliance on "wire-fu" really detracts from his movies. Here's hoping Tony Jaa can fill the void that Jet Li will leave with even better movies.
