Lots of older American women have moved to Mexico - how safe would it be if not living in an American enclave?
have read numerous articles & have e-mailed some older American women who live at Lake Chapala & they love it. I am considering retiring in Mexico, but don't really want to live in "Little America". Would an older woman alone be safe living farther away from the other Americans?

- Is she fluent in Spanish? There's your answer.
- I know a lot of older Americans living in different parts of Mexico and they all love it and are and feel safe. Don't worry you will be safe. I would recommend you moving to a medium sized city and enjoy life in Mexico!.
- Mexico is just like the USA, has nice cities, bad cities, nice neighborhoods, bad neighbrhoods. The "mexicans" you see here, all gangsta wannabe and stuff, that doesnt really happen over there, people look bad at you if you behave that way and have less tolerance to "tough" wannabes. That kind of balances the environment.
