- dual citizenship is awarded only when a person is born in mexico and becomes a citizen of the U.S by going through the whole paperwork proceedure. And if u were born in the U.S most of the time u can still get dual citizenship by going down to mexico and registering there as being a citizen there, don't know how much it will cost u but shouldn't be maybe 200 dollars a most.hope that helps.
- This may have changed somahow. But the last time I checked you can be a Mexican Citizen (and thus a dual citizen since Mexico doesn't ask for the resifgnation of other nationalities to become a citizen) by: birth, marriage or by Mexican parents. If you meet any of these requirements go to the Mexican Embassy and start the paperwork. If not beware that Mexican citizenship is harder to get than the American.
