Baby Boomers hated by Social Security?
Looks like the money will be all gone when Baby Boomers retire. Youn work all your life and pay just to be told...sorry, the bank run dry!

- I'm not trying to be a jerk here but if you're stupid enough to rely off of social security alone to retire on you're in for a big shock. Social security isn't enough to live off of, you need to set money aside to retire on and invest in several markets. At 27 I've already started to work towards retirement and we don't include anything from SS. Hopefully any young people reading this will do some research and see what waits for them at retirement.
- Social Security is not a person or group of persons it is a mechanism in the government. However it must be reformed because it is not going to stand up to the pressure of the Baby Boomers without breaking the government either by 1. The economic strain that will be placed on the government to pay everyone their entitled money 2. People not getting their money and taking it out on the government politically.
- Unfortunately we (the young working generation now) will not be able to support the influx of retirees. I have started saving for my own retirement. I have never relied on the government to take care of me and I hope to have to expect to when i retire.
