- can't have a gun. Have a place where you can put up with and put up, a soldier, who armed, can scare away the occasional bad guy.Feed him in his hut not in your house.

- All i know is that many Filipinos who live in the States would like to go back to the Philippines when they retire, its because the Filipinos are best known for caring for the elders.majority knows how to speak in English.
- I know this one I retired here an it is alot diff than America #1 the money exchange rate is 51 to 1 $100 usd = P 5,000 rent a nice one bed room around $70 a month any thing grown made local is cheap bought a new car for $3,000 in 2005 doctors visit $8 on an on we use tri-cycles (motor cycle with side car an driver all day $3 pluse a gas tip AVG. WAGE HERE IS P170 PER DAY...OR $3.10 per day
- ive heard its great. if you have the money you can buy a house with maids and just relax.
- ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
- I am a Filipino but working in the Middle East, so I can say that what stillhappy89 said is true. The exchange rate is Php 51=US$1 which means that your dollar will go a long way. This is the reason why many Filipinos are leaving the Philippines and look for work abroad, then send dollars back home. Anyway, follow rexski's advice and take a look at the website or google for investment opportunities in the Philippines. Currently, the government is looking at developing the country for medical tourism but I'm not sure how far they are gone with this project. So, why don't you go for a short holiday, look around, shop around and enjoy a truly unique lifestyle, good service, meet the always happy Filipinos (not a race to brood and have long faces) and see how far your dollar can take you. Exercise caution, though as not all Filipinos can be trusted ( same as with other places, I guess, there will always be bad apples among the good ones). Good luck and cheers!
- why you need to move right away?
- I have my aunt married by a retired American Officer. They have been here for almost 30 years. If you will receive say at least $4,000 dollars a month as your retirement benefit, then that would be very much enough for you to spend in a month. That will give you a decent meal in the table, big house beside that beach if that's what you want and a maid which will only cost you around $40-$60 (around PhP 2,000). If you're going to the Philippines, for sure you will bring with you your savings to purchase a house which will not burden you paying monthly rent for a house. But as I've said, with only $4,000 approximated monthly allowance from US government, that will be enough, even to cover a family of 5 on a rented house. For transportation, you could purchase a second hand SUV in good running condition for around $600 to $800 according to your preference. Fuel is high but I think per gallon cost of fuel is cheaper here in the amount of around $3. Depending on where you plan to stay, I'm sure there are places where most Americans stay for long, like where my American uncle is staying right now. Lots of them are flocked in one place and you know some of them have already put up a restaurant together with their Filipino wives. I hope these info helped.
- philippines are mean and cocky!
- i don't know why don't you call one and find out
