Overseas employment for US residents?
An overseas company is going to employ me in their J/V company in Indonesia. I wish to know: 1) Once I have the contract, which dept should I apply and register for overseas employment? 2) Also which dept(s) I need to report so that they will grant the permission of my returning to US (I am freshly immigrated to USA but I already have my green card and SS), say, for holidays, etc? 3) I believe I have to pay the tax to US government from overseas, therefore what formalities? and how can I transmit my salary to my family legally?

- If you are an immigrant, I would think long and hard before trying to work over seas. There will be a LOT of complications, because you are not officially an US citizen. If anything were to go wrong, you risk the chance of losing the opportunity to return to the US. Borders are getting VERY tight, and with the security and such, I don't know if I would risk it. Especially if you have a family. As for taxes and what not, your company will automatically submit your W2, so you would just submit your taxes as usual. And you can have your income deposited into any bank account, so you would only need them deposit it into your account. Good luck!
