Overseas Service Stripes?
Okay I guess it's a relatively simple question. I was part of 1st Armored Division which is based outta Germany. I'm trying to put together my Dress Uniform (Class A's). I was with 1st AD for 2 years. A year of that I was in Iraq. For the Overseas service stripes (the stripes you wear on the right sleeve of the Class A uniform) di you only wear them for time spent in Iraq/ deployed or do you wear them for the entire time spent overseas (so should I be wearing 4, 2 for the year in Iraq and 2 for the year in Germany?).

- one combat stripe per 6 months in a combat zone. one service stripe per 3 years in the military. Stop being lazy and look it up in AR 670-1.
- (Right sleeve)1 per 6 months time in a combat zone. You denote overseas service with the Overseas Ribbon.
- The Overseas Service Strips are for every six months over seas. To count the months for overseas is easy, if you have one day in that month it counts for the whole month. For your oversea service in Germany you will be awarded the Overseas Service Ribbon (OSR).
- AR 670-1, You wear 2 Bars on your right sleeve, thats it. Time spent drinking Warsteiners at Graf doesnt count...
