Amnesty Retirement?
I just received an email from the website that is listed below that would lead me to believe that the illegals that are granted amnesty would be able to get Social Security retirement even though they have never paid in. Is this true?? For years now they have said that SS might not be available to us by the time we get there(even though we have ALWAYS had to pay) but if millions of illegals get to stay (not to mention the unknown people they will be able to bring with them) and get the retirement funds having NEVER paid in, how will we ever have any retirement money? www.grassfire.org

- The website is wrong. Unless a person has a SSN and has worked the required ten years in this country (and paid social security taxes on that income), then he or she is not eligible for social security.
- Sounds like a scam to me.
- I hate the proposed legislation regarding the illegal immigration. Social Security will not be affected by the current crop of illegals but it will be affected by their decendants. Under the proposed bill current illegals can stay and receive green cards and bring over family members. there are 12 million illegals right now that we know about and each can bring over 4 family members thats 48 million plus the 12 million totalling 60 million who will bankrupt America - not just the Social Security system. The bill must not pass and be signed into law.
