1. Save, save, save. If you are in debt or not using a budget read: The Total Money Makeover by Ramsey If you want to be a Millionaire read: The Millionaire Next Door by Stanley Ramsey gives you a plan to get out of debt, stay out of debt and save. Stanley tells you how the average millionaire became a millionaire. Follow what the average millionaire does by doing what Ramsey says and you can retire early. Ramsey's book also gives you a formula to figure out how much money you need to retire and be able to live off depending on how much money you want per year and what age you want to retire. The formula also gives you how much you need to invest today and for how long to meet your goal.
2. Hopefully, you are young (ie. less than 25) so that you will have time on your side. Live below your means (ie. live on less than you make) and save as much as you can.
3. Hire a Portfolio Manager with at least a decade of experience in the Stock Markets like myself.
