On Madden 07 is there anyway you can stop Brett Favre from retiring or have you ever seen it?

I thinks its just the season that you pick you either get him to stay or he goes. but is there any way to keep him? i mean after your first year in season mode

3. never fails, first season and gone. ive started about 4 franchises and everytime his name is on the list after the first year. i even got him in the fantasy draft, got him an mvp and superbowl and still gone.
