Do you think that Brett Favre should retire?
Public Comments
- Yes, he's old.
- Brett Favre should not retire until he is either ready to retire or until he cannot play up to standards!
- Absolutely.
- I think Brett Favre should do whatever he wants to do, he deserves anything he wants! =)
- no hes sttill gotta couple years left
- I think he needs to but I do not want him to.
- Either way, he should make his decision so the Packers, and other players, can get on with preparing for the season and their lives.
- no, even with the losses last year they still played well, if I remember right the offense and defense was in the top 10, just wouldn't get the wins. He loves the game so much I would hate to see him go.
- yes , some people stay to long and just make a fool of theirself
- yes and no
- Yes. He is one of the greats of all time and its saddening to see his performance get worse and worse every year. Dont get me wrong, he still has skills and one of the better QBs in the league, but his team is plagued with injuries and his support isnt as good as it used to be. I would hate for him to get seriously injured.. he should leave healthy..
- What we think is irrelevant. But opinions that we may have well, I would say to play one more year and then retire. he still is a great contender and if he had a great team around him then he would make it again if not to the super bowl the play offs maybe. Then he could retire on a good note. He still has game when it comes to football. This was his only bad year since his first year and a half as a starter.
- Yeah, whatever.
- Even though I myself am a Green Bay Packers fan, and I think that Brett Favre is a great athlete, I think it would be in his best intrest to retire. I mean yes he still does have pep in his step or fire in his arm, what ever way you would like to look at it. So, this Green Bay thinks that the man and living legend should retire.
- Only if his presence is detrimental to the team, if he's still making a positive contribution he should keep at it.
- yes..before he gets hurt bad..and cant enjoy his retirement.
- ya
- I think he has earned the right to make a decision. My understanding is that his return depends on a number of factors including the willingness of the owners of the Packers to spend more money to recruit players. The sacking of Mike Sherman will also be a factor. In an interview with USA Today, he said the main factor was the expected competitiveness of the team. Q. Would you come back for the $10 million salary? Or perhaps for a chance to eclipse Dan Marino's NFL record for career touchdown passes? (Marino finished with 420 and Favre has 396). A. "Looking at it from my perspective, and coming back, if no one expects us to do good or to compete for the Super Bowl, what do I stand to gain by coming back other than financial gain and possibly breaking a record? "Am I that type of player? Am I that type of person? I say no. I wouldn't come back for the money or to break records. That's sort of my dilemma right now. If I felt like we really could compete for the Super Bowl, I would come back. Or am I coming back just to play and to have fun, and in the process maybe we lose. Last year was no fun for the fans or for the players, and nobody wants to go through that again. "Besides, if I was coming back for the money or the record, I would've said I was coming back a long time ago. There wouldn't be anything to consider." Personally, I think it would be a shame if 2005 were to be his last year and it would be good if he could go out a winner on the back of a successful season. My understanding is that he will make his decision this week.
- Athletes like Farve should retire when they feel that they are ready to hang them up. What I don't like is all this waiting and indecision.Make a decision and move on.
- nooooo -i love seeing the packers lose
- yes
- Yes he got what he wanted I don't care if he denies it but he is only playing to extend his playing streak if he did not have it he would have retired long time ago.
- no I am a huge Packer fan and watch every game. He can still play. If he was on a contending team he could still win a Super Bowl.
- play another year - he can still play the game and he will have help this year from a healthy team
- NOOOOOOOOOOO
- After last season, hell yeah!
- I think that Brett Favre should retire because if he plays anymore he will just get worse.
