Golf-themed menu and game ideas?
I am planning a surprise golf-themed party for my husband and am not totally familiar with the game. My plans are to find a 9-hole indoor golf course that you can rent for the party facility. I have ordered a golf-themed cake...but I have been looking for other menu ideas and have not been too successful. Any ideas on food/games that can help me to tie everything together with the theme?

- I would think that indoor golf is enough in the game dept so just worry about the food! You could do a cheese ball and make it look like a golf ball. Maybe incorporate some of your hubby's favorite foods. Name some regular foods after famous golfers... example: Philly cheesesteaks...Phil-ly Mickelsons after Phil Mickelson. Baked Brie and crackers...Michelle "Brie" after Michelle Wie. Just look at the PGA website for more name ideas. Good Luck!
- You could also make the food shaped like the tee, golfballs, and clubs. Make indentations on meatballs and you have golfballs. Homemade breadsticks in the shape of clubs would be cute. You could make a bowl of blue punch to represent the lake/ponds that are always present on golf courses. If you make clams or something that needs to be supported, instead of using salt, use sand to represent to the sand traps. You said you already ordered a cake, but if that falls through, you could buy or make cupcakes and then ice them with green icing. Then cut a small hole out the top middle of each one and stick a toothpick with a little flag on the top so it looks like the hole. Good luck and have fun! :)
- I worked in a charity event at a golf course and golfers are crazy about good and hearty sandwiches. The snacks guy would come with individual boxes with club sandwiches heavy on turkey and bacon. In the box were also chips, soda and a big chocolate chip cookie. Maybe you can do the same boxed idea (condiments included) or you can order trays of different sandwiches with pasta salad, potato salad, or chips at your favorite sandwich shop. Beer when you are playing on a hot day in the golf course was a must.
