How to make a character cake cake? ideas for party snacks?
anyone know of a site that gives you all the "How to" directions? step by step. I want to make a cookie monster cake for my daughter's birthday & its been...a few years since I made a cake using my cake decorating tools. Other cute ideas for a cookie monster cake would be good too. If i can find a figure of him, for the top of it, how should i decorate the cake around him? What kinds of snacks would be good at an afternoon party 2:00-4:00? I'm going to make some kind of a snack mix, using cheerios m&ms, crackers and such. I am not doing a veggie tray because it never gets touched when i make it. These people dont eat their veggies! how aweful (first birthday)

- How about using the circle cake pans and maybe some smaller ones for the eyes? then decorate it as you know how (much better than I would even try..lol) snacks for the children could be: grapes, cut apples, cheese cubes....single serving bags of chips and finger sandwiches.
- I always refer to Wilton.com for all of my questions on cake decorating. See this web site to get help on your cookie monster cake:http://www.wilton.com/cake/shapedpans/pdf%5C2105-4927CookieMonster19961.pdf This should take you directly to the Cookie Monster cake pan and directions on how to decorate. You could also try Kraftfoods.com for snack ideas. They even have healthy ideas. Hope this helps.
- If you do find a figure for him I would simply decorate the cake with blue curling ribbon and confetti. If you can't find a figure for him try the link below for some ideas. I would do his fur with a tip #233 or you can star it in with tip #18. As for snacks, I know the veggies don't get touched but how about just carrots sticks with ranch dip or celery with peanut butter? You could also do a fruit tray. And last but not least don't forget the cookies for your cookie monsters! http://images.google.com/images?sourceid=navclient&ie=UTF-8&rlz=1T4ADBF_enUS236&q=cookie+monster+cake&um=1&sa=N&tab=wi
