Suspended animation + retirement benefits = Profit?
In the future people will be able to spend extended periods in suspended animation. Assuming they will continue to collect on their retirement benefits (e.g. Social Security or pensions), how will future generations deal with the millions of people who refuse to die?

- Well, I could only speculate and there are better Scifi writer who address these issues than I. New technologies offer new opportunities but as you point out we need to consider what problems will also need to be addressed. I would expect that laws would change. The government might tax people who are in suspend animation or set requirements that would limit their earnings. They might make long term storage costly and so it might become unaffordable to but a few. If possible that automation makes most people labors unnecessary and so would people use less resource if they would put in suspended animation or more? What happens where a person come out of suspended animation. Would then need to reeducated? What about changes in the way people think or act?
