To save money could I use disease and pest free wood that I heat treated for my terrarium.?
I'm trying to save money and create an awesome setup for my future iguana I want to use wood and other things from outside to decorate my terrarium. I wouldn't use anything that could be eaten or potentially dangerous. I just think I could find way cooler stuff outside and heat treat it then going to the store and and buying what everybody else has for a small fortune.

- The best thing to do is freeze for at least 24 hours to kill germs and insect eggs etc.
- i agree, thats the way my sis did it for hers and she's had it 4 like 3 yearss
- Yes you can I have done this with my birds and reptiles. Just clean the items real well and dry completely even it you have to place a fan on the item for a day or two.
- If you heat treat it everything will be fine. Freezing doesn't kill germs so it is pretty much pointless heat treating is the best.
- totally true dont buy that crap, find it yourself, if never had a problem, and heat treat ing works fine
