  1. Start saving automatically. Open a savings account, and direct your payroll department to put 10% of your paycheck in there every month. I know it seems like a lot, but you won't miss it, because it will be safely tucked away before you ever touch it. Next, get down to your local library tonight and start checking out personal finance books - they can be wonderfully empowering and inspiring, and most are written in simple, easy-to-understand terms. Some good, easy reads: -The Complete Idiot's Guide to Personal Finance in your 20s and 30s -The Complete Idiot's Guide to Managing Your Money -“Smart Women Finish Rich” or “The Automatic Millionaire”, by David Bach -any Suze Orman books
  2. lol if u wanna save ,"live" cheap...i mean eat wat u really need ...without buying sweets ,cigarettes (if u smoke) and others, cut some hanging outs which will leave a small but regular whole in ur pocket....these are few methods
  3. Ive had the same problem for years. This is the advice my mom gave me. When you see something you want to buy, ask your self do I want it or do I need it. if it is something you want you may put it off until you have enough put back to get it without leaving yourself short. if it is something you need ask yourself if it is a necessity for right now or can you wait. hope this helps. its worked for me.
  4. when you cash your check, send 25% of it directly to me. i'll save it for you.
  5. First, Open a savings account with a good intrest rate. This way you will be making a little bit of extra money, and your money will be in a safe place. As soon as you get your paycheck, put a portion of it in the bank before you have a chance to tempt yourself with something. Also, start buying the "needs" and not the "wants", so to speak. If you are in a store, and you see something you want, do the 10-second check. Think to yourself, "Do I really need this?", "Can I really afford this?", and "Am I going to use this often?". You might be surprised by how far your paycheck will go if you do this. I hope this works for you!
  6. Watch the secret movie.. 7. Here is what you want to start doing: First start carrying a piece of paper with you and tracking every time you buy something. Even if it's just a .50 or $1 item write it down. Do this for the next few weeks. Now sit down with all your bills, paycheck and that piece of paper. Figure paying the miniums on all your bills and see how much money you have left each month. Then take any extra money you have left over and pay it to your highest accuring debt. Now you should have a 3-6month emergancy fund saved up. You can do it two ways: Either save 10% a month towards it or take the extra money and save it instead of paying it your highest accuring debt and just pay the minium. Next you should seee which bills you and cut down or gt rid of. Some things might be cut your cable, cell phone, home phone down or out completly. Start making 2 or 3 days of meals at once and eat alot of vegatables, soups and pastas as they are cheap.. Maybe you should get a 2nd job, or look into a roommate.. These are some ideas to get you staarted. Remember to live frugally. Only buy something if it's a need not a want. You should get the book by Dave Ramsey called the complete money makeover. This will really help you stay focused and teach you the snowball effect which is what I explained to you. Do this and it will work. Just keep in mind your goals and dreams and stay focused on them. Good luck and happy holidays
