Is WVU coach Rich Rodriguez FREAKING CRAZY???
I'm sitting here wondering this very thing, last year WVU coach Rich Rodriguez got a offer from alabama, and he turned it down saying he would like to retire in morgantown, but now he has just accepted a head coaching job at the university of michigan, taking Pat White and Steve Slaton from freshman to the nokia sugar bowl, then the gator bowl, and now the fiesta bowl, which he will apparently not be coaching in he now plans to devote his time to taking care of business in Ann Arbor, including the fact that he is trying to recruit the leading QB in the nation Terrelle Pryor who was previously considering commiting to WVU, i'm just can't understand coach Rodriguez, but you can be sure i will not support him while at michigan, and hope that someday WVU and michigan butt heads in the future.

- the success at wvu will fade in a few years...he knows that it will return to mediocrity. alabama would be a step sidewise in my opinion. lsu, ohio state, michigan, florida, and usc are the only steps up....
- do you have a reference point on the type of talent he gets to recruit from at WVU vs the talent at Mich.? Slaton got refused entry by maryland and a couple of other schools..C Henry is a thug..they have players on the police blotters everywhere.. at Michigan he will have the world by a string..and big bucks to go with it..
- I wonder how cheap all those In ROD we trust shirts and signs are on e-bay right about now
- Yes, he's crazy. Only now, he's very wealthy, too.
- YES Richie Rich is crazy and a bit greedy if you ask me .Why would you leave a program that is on the verge of a NCAA Championship year(2008) which we will win next year and i hope we get to kick Michigans ass in the process
- Rodriguez did what most of us would do - he took a BETTER job and MORE MONEY when he realized he had hit the ceiling at his old job. If you are someone who thinks you are above that...you are lying to yourself. What I'm wondering about this guy though...how does a southern accented country boy from West Virginia..who by all visual indications is white..get the name "Rodriguez"???
- He's crazy and a liar. He said he was going to stay and no excuse can make his decision to leave any less of a betrayal. He was already making $2 million/year so I don't see how money could have been that much of a factor. His word obviously means nothing. I guess Michigan doesn't see that. I hope Ohio St crushes them next year. He has a lot of work to do too. Michigan sucked with Hart and Henne so imagine how bad they will be next year. Good luck B*tch Rodriguez. I hope you get everything you deserve.
- I think the jeffersons called this "moving on up". As much as this will prolly tick off WVU fans, Michigan is quite simply a more Nationally renoun program, higher profile and subsequently they get better athletes from a national level rather then just a mid atlantic level. Rich has done wonders with the talent that he had at WVU but it is still somewhat local talent and many of the players he has built his teams are at WVU by second choice or third choice. michigan will attract more higher calibur players. It just makes sense to move up to a more natioanlly recognized program.
- I think there will be a day where Michigan will fire him anyway....the East is not the same as the Big 10 as far as talent wise, before everyone starts bitchin at me as of know they have been better the last couple years but as a WHOLE the big 10 has been more competitive conference then the East....I will say this if he doesn't win consistently and beat OSU they will fire him and hire someone else...Rich is their 5th option, and he is on a short leash, win or gone only options, the boosters are not happy with pick as it is!!!
- He's not nuts, just a forked-tongued, no class, no cahones, money grubbin', back stabbin' liar. He's done a lot for WVU, but to say that you're gonna retire at WVU and in the next breath say you're leaving, is absolutely wrong. And to top it all off, he put Jan 3 on his resignation with no intention of coaching the bowl game (as if I'd want him to anyway) in hopes that WVU would hire a new coach and have to fire him. When they fire him, the university woould then owe him 4 million dollars. You're a mean one Mr. gRInCH. "Fraud"riguez 3 words describe you and I quote: STINK, STANK, STUNK.
- ha ha WVU sucks and they are going to get their @ss handed to them in the fiesta bowl BOOMER SOONER! GO OU!
- Apparently there has been issues with Coach Rod and the Athletic Director for the past 2 years (don't know why considering he got EVERYTHING he asked for with his last contract extension). Also, apparently there was a lot of finger pointing between the coaching staff and the players regarding the tragedy that was the Backyard Brawl this year (sorry Pitt fans, but WVU beat themselves in that game...you're welcome!). However, that being said... He must be crazy. He had a great recruiting staff and recruits already signed to WVU and was all set to make another run at the National Title this coming year. ESPN had WVU already ranked as #5 in the preseason for next year considering Pat White, Noel Devine, and POSSIBLY Steve Slaton were coming back. If he would have stayed for the next 5 years or so, he LITERALLY would be revered as WVU's new GOD...yes, GOD. It is his alma mater and no matter how much he is going to get paid, I just can't see it being worth it.
- Yes y would he go 2 MIchagan i mean thy lost 2 Appilahan State thats terrible i think he is crazy
- Ohhhhhh we don't give a damn for the whole state of Michigan, the whole state of Michigan, the whole state of Michigan, we don't give a damn for the whole state of Michigan, cause were from Ohio, were from O-hio, O-H, were from Ohio, I- OHHH we don't we don't give a damn for the whole state of Michigan, whole state of Michigan, whole state of Michigan, we don't give a damn for the whole state of Michigan, cause were from OHIO!!
- I know about Michigan's history and the talent the WVU has right now but its all about the money on this..I do feel that if you're looking to win right now within these next few years, I think WVU is a better job because you got Slaton/White/Reynaud this year and a decent defense..when those two are gone, you have Noel Devine and Jarrett Brown who are very talented..he should've stayed but what's done is done..I'm interested in seeing how both teams will do next season
