Favre Retire?

I have lived in Wisconsin for 7 years now and over the past 4 NFL seasons there has been the up and down debate on weather or not Favre should, is or will retire. I know that he is a living legend in football and has indefinately left his mark on this sport and I think the NFL comentators love talking about him every game then commentating on the game itself. Should he do what Seinfeld did and retire while on top, (If the Packer's make it to the Superbowl), or continue onto further seasons, not knowing what the outcome might be? Your thoughts.

  1. he will play two more years***
  2. He's like Jordan, he's a competitor, he's not going to stop until he's used up every breath of energy he has left. I think if he wins the superbowl this year he would retire. If not then i'll give him one more season, then it's Rogers turn.
  3. Being a Vikings fan I'd love to take a cheap shot here but I won't... Honest answer, he should retire this year because no matter what happens in the playoffs, this was one heck of a season for the Packers. He would look really foolish if he came back next year and sucked. Don't pull a Jerry Rice.
  4. When it is in your blood, it is tough to walk away from. It also provides a great distraction from all the things in his private life. I wish him the best and another ring would be unbelievable.
  5. on thanks giving favre said that he would be willing to sign a 2 yr contract but i think he is waiting to see how far they get this year.i hope he calls it quits before he gets bad like montana waited to long those last years were not very great
  6. personally i do think he will retire while on top but this season has but one of his best my opinion is if he isnt injured and he feels great and playing great why not just go for it but thats just me although no one knows how well he and the packers will do next year and retiring while on top would be a better idea who knows what he will decide only time will tell
  7. He isn't playing like a 38 year old and probably would do well next season also. Seriously, he is having an EXCELLENT year. But he will retire eventually so I think it depends on if he wins the Superbowl this year or not. (probably not because who can beat NE?)
  8. No one know about that Favre is retire after this season. But he reported on ESPN that he wanted to return for next season. He just wants to continue playing some football as he wants.
  9. he will stay he has a nice young team and donald driver will proble stay as long as brett does so when brett reiters so will driver
  10. well, being a life-long pack fan, that is a tough question, and i guess only one favre can answer. my heart wants to see the guy play forever, buy my head says get out on top not that he wont always be a competitor, but don't end a great carreer on a stupid injury or something. His records will be broke, but no one will ever play with the heart that he has. realistically, if they make the super bowl, who is more deserving of the MVP, brady is surrounded by talent, and has played great, but favre has taken a team of young punks to the top of the NFL, give me a superbowl win and 4th MVP and he retires, anything less and I see him back for 2 more years
  11. If the Packers happen to win the Super Bowl, I think he would retire on top, like Elway...With that said, I think it will be the Packers and Pats in the Super Bowl...but the Pats win and Brett is back to do it again next year...
  12. If they go to the Super Bowl I would love to see him retire on top, but being a Packer fan I would hate to see the Legend retire. What ever Favre decides is the best decision for him and I will be satisfied with his call
  13. I think this is how it will go if the Packers win the super bowl then he will retire if they don't he comes back for one more year and then retires
  14. GO PATS!!!!!
  15. On Yahoo Answers last year, so many were calling for his retirement. You just don't hear or see that this year. He is having so much fun this year, I am not sure. He might want to go out on top or play a couple more years. Obviously, the call is his. I have learned, over the past few years, not to try to second guess Brett. .
  16. i hope he plays for ever until he sucks so bad that they release him
  17. Favre should play as long as his body can take the pounding and the Packers have a shot at the Super Bowl. I would say two more years is about right. Favre would regret it for the rest of his life if he didn't leave everything he has on the field. He would feel like he let his dad down.
  18. This year may be the year! After Green Bay goes to the Super Bowl and wins, beating New England 38-24, Favre can retire while he is on top! Whatta way to go!
