How do you save money on clothes? On furniture? On food? On housing?
I'm currently trying to save money on clothes furniture food and books to be able to rent an apartment when I'm 18.

- clothes : buy things on sale Funiture : buy things on sale Food : buy things on sale House : live with parents
- I buy clothes when they're on sale. I'm not interested in the latest trends, so I buy quality stuff that will last a long time. All my furniture is hand-me-downs. I don't much care what my furniture looks like as long as it's functional and clean. I buy as much as I can in bulk, fresh stuff I only buy when I know I'll be using it so it doesn't go to waste. I have some skills that I trade for work. I do light carpentry, plumbing and electrical work in exchange for auto care and stuff I can't do myself. But I do indulge in my sneaker addiction when I need to. It's one thing I will not give up or compromise on. However, I always have money saved and put aside for when the urge strikes....
- If possible, I would avoid the concept of living by yourself when you are 18 and see if it possible to live with your parents until you are confident you can live by yourself, whilst also living an acceptable lifestyle.
