Will Australia become weaker if major players retire?

Many batsmen of Australia are in mid 30's or approaching late 30's, like Tendulkar of India and so I think retirement should not be very far away for them. Symonds, Gilchrist, Ponting, Breet Lee, Hayden etc etc are around mid 30's in age. So when such solid batsmen retire from Australian squad, would Australian team become weaker? I have noticed other teams become weaker when their major batsmen retired. Like for example I noticed that when Saeed Anwar of Pak (who has largest one day score) retired, the opening batsmen after his retirement could not quite deliver to the same degree as Anwar used to, and they lacked the kind of skill and score that Anwar used to put. Will India get weaker too, when Tendulkar and Ganguly retire?

2. the aussies will get weaker indeed. weak enough to fall out of the top 5? prly not. but you can def say next cricket world cup that streak will def be on the line. India may get some help from uthappa and yuvraj singh. maybe even rohit sharma. we will have to wait and see. one thing i will def say is that once sachin and dada retire from test cricket..its gonna take a toll on the team.

Many young and gifted players will be waiting for their chance to prove their talent. I think Australia will not have any problem to get quality players because of the quality of training. India has also got many young and gifted players, who are playing at the domestic level. They will not face any problem.
6. Bite your tongue bozo! Brett Lee is just 31,I don't think Symonds is out of his twenties, & Ponting is about 33. But should they all miraculously retire soon(God forbid) we have such a depth of talent here you would be amazed.I promise NOT to tell Brett you thought he was THAT old!

Bingalee has said more than enough, just 2 add 2 it there r a few subsitutions, tait can take brett lee's place, i think he did quite well in the world cup, white can take symonds' place even he did well against new zealand before the world cup. michael clarke (according 2 some commentrators) is the future captain but even i dont know the future openers, but u never know as earlier we have got 2 see some great subsitutions i think that india will become weaker n it will be tough for them 2 get subsitutes bcoz till now they havent managed 2 find good players after gambhir, n the selectors arent making the right choices cheers!!!!

13. Yes, of course they will, but the question isnt whether they'll get weaker, but for how long? And gamer vinamra, the losers always look to blame someone or something else for their own ineptitude. Like you, for instance. We dont need to cheat, because we are the best team in the world. Second class teams that come up against the Aussies and are defeated 4 days into a test match should really be looking at their own games, rather than casting aspersions on other people, and calling them cheats.
14. Of course they will. They're already weaker. You can't easily replace legendary players like Mcgrath and Warne. You just don't notice they're weaker because they've got a system that produces consistently good players. But you'll see the difference when they play tougher teams, I still think they'll be great, but I don't think they'll compare to previous years. Mcgrath, and especially Warne added a different dimension to Aus.

16. Since Australia have good bench strength with talented players, I donot think that they will be weaker if senior players retire. However, in case of india, the retirement of seniors will defenitely weaken the team for some time till the replacement players get groomed and have international exposure.
17. well australia has number of players waiting outside for their turn like one good bolwer mcgill and in near future it will not be the case In india if ganguly,dravid,laxman and sachin retires shortly then yes definately it may create some imbalance & it may affect the team
