How many other old retired guys wish they were young and could go back on active duty?
I would in a heartbeat.

- Nope; I'm glad to be older and wiser. I'm not about to be scammed again.
- Wait until someone discovers a time machine?
- I agree so I have to tinkle once in a while whats the big deal its a desert.
- active duty where? and why? two very important questions. cheers!
- In dog years I am not old And I'd be ready at the drop of a hat to bark again in the military.
- I am not a guy. I bet some of them wish they were young and just active without aches and pains. Some love active service.
- How many guys that are on active duty wish they could get the hell out? I would in a heart beat lol. It just goes to show you that the grass is always greener on the other side. Once you have sat down and eaten your first meal at the chow hall and slept in barracks with no AC, go on constant deployments then you will say "How many people would like to be a civillian?" LOL.
- As an almost old guy going to retire this summer.... I'd think about it. But I want the summer off first.
- Not retired yet still young enough to go, and I'm working on it at this time, Ex-wife causing clearance problems she's a B*&ch. I'll be there (Iraq / Afganistan)asap when I get this straightened out. Vet-USAF
- Thank you. You are a good man.
- You'd be surprised. Too many can't wait to get out when they're in, then they spend the rest of their lives wishing they would have stayed in. What you hear so much of is, "If I would have stayed in for 20 years, I would be getting a pension..." Please-don't wish the rest of your life away. it's a decison you made, and I'm afraid you have to live with it.
- I would, too, although I am not old enough to be retired. I might be had I stayed in. sigh No, I will not let you make me feel cause to regret.
- Being a semi-old retired guy, I wish I could have spent more time on active duty, but with the kids getting older and wanting to spend more time with them, I made the decision after 21 years service to get out. I got married at 32 and had my first of 3 at 33. Now that they are grown, I would go back in a heartbeat. I just loved that way of life.
- I got out based upon what I thought was a responsible decision but every day now I have looked back and said, "Damn, I truly loved (actually still love) the Marine Corps and wish I could go back in. I may not agree with the decisions our CinC makes but I believe in my troops and my Corps. I sh!t you not, out of 7 nights a week, I have at least 3 dreams of the Corps in one fashion or another. S/F
- It pays to stay and I am glad that I did... Looking back 13 yrs. after retirement... I can only feel that I wish I could help more, but getting closer to be a full pledge senior citizen wasn't that fun either...Oh well, at least that I did my share, and that matters the most... As the saying goes-----""""Old soldiers never die, they just fade away"""... GEN. Douglas MacArthur....
- I, for one, also wouldn't mind returning to the military. There are so many more benefits for the military that just weren't available when I retired 14+ years ago.
