Mad Science Cake Ideas?

My daughter is turning 8 and is having a madscience birthday party. I am searching for ideas for a cool cake. Either a cool design or something cool inside the cake. Any help is welcomed!!

  1. No bake popcorn cake. You make popcorn. Jam the popcorn, M & M's, and some peanuts into an angel food cake pan. Push it all down until the "cake" has taken on the shape of the pan. Melt a small pot full of marshmellows, and pour the liquid all thorughout the cake so it will hold together. After it sets up, remove it from the form. Even if you decide not to do this one for her birthday, try it out. It's colorful, fun, and quite a bit healthier than regular cakes.
  2. Houw about a dirt cake and you could add gummy worms in the middle. It looks really cool when you scoop it out of the bucket.
  3. Lava cake. Ya know, the choclate cakes that aren't all the way done in the middle, so they're like little volcanoes. They sell mixes at most grocery stores. Also, you can go to many restaurants to try one out ahead of time. I know for a fact that Chili's has them.

  5. why done you bake a cake and turn it into a plant or animal cell! you could use red m&ms for the nuclius, gummy worms for the endoplamsic reiculum, pink spirnkles for ribosomes.. thinks like that
