Should Brett Favre retire?

I think he should. Rogers needs to settle himself in with this young team so they can be good in a couple of years. They might not make it to the playoffs next season, but do you really think Favre has it in him to get to the Super Bowl, or even the playoffs. I know he did it this season but I think it's time for the Packers to leave the Brett Favre era.

  1. if he dosnt hell have a heart attack soon
  2. YES, YES, YES!! and then maybe we can listen to him on NFL LIVE every SATURDAY AND SUNDAY!
  3. i disagree.. he looked very good this year, and it is a young team.. Grant is only gonna get better and so are some of the young recievers. if i were him i would keep playing
  4. yea i think he should and he probaley will
  5. YES!
  6. yes he does he is beginning to suck a trade is in the works
  7. No. Favre should be encouraged that he was able to take the team as far as he did. Green Bay is a very young ballclub. Another year of experience and being together could mean wonders for the team! I say when Favre reaches 40, by all means he should step down, but the man has more to prove!
  8. I think he should. He's great, but he's almost 40. thats way to old. he even has grey hair in his beard!
  9. i think brett favre defines what a winner is. he had his back against the wall for the last couple of years, never doubted himself or his abilities, waited for the rest of his team to fill in, and then had an awesome season, silencing the critics, though he came short. anytime you have an ace like farve, let him make the call, the epitome of a champion.
  10. nahh.. he'll be back.. he got a taste of the playoffs again.. i think he will be back for 1 more year.
  11. Well he has done everything you would want to do as a Quarterback in the league, hes won a Superbowl and has many NFL records. Alot of MVP awards. Yeah if he retires that would be good, if he stays that would be alright too, except the fact that he is depriving Rogers the chance to take that team over.
  12. Brett gave so much to the Packers organization. Why should he retire if he still wants to play? He is still one of the elite QB's in the entire NFL. So what if he's old. If he could still play the same way he played this year until he like 56 then he will still start. Age ain't a thing if he can still compete with the best. Once that catches up to him, then it's okay to say bye.
  13. yea i think brett has to go rodgers or whoever there gonna put in at wb next has to get a chance to build chemisty with the other wrs i agree they wouldnt be as good with a qb trying to learn how to run an offense but in 2009 or 2010 they would be much better off if rodgers got a chance to start this coming season brett has done a lot for the packers but at this point the most he can do for them is step aside the packers also need to see rodgers in a game hes only had limited action so far so they need to see if he is as good as they think
  14. i think that he should too. he is the oldest player in the NFL game and i think that he should he has had his fun in life so i think that he should take it easy and go to his florida home. he has the money and riches to so yeah he should retire.
  15. Yes. Aaron Rodgers would've led them to field goal range yesterday in overtime. Favre had a great season, and I feel happy for him about that, but he doesn't have the ability to take this young team any further. Please finally give Rodgers his chance.
  16. yes Brett favre is getting old and can't move in the cold as good his joint just will not let him. i think Aaron rogers is good enough that he can come in the game and lead the packers to the playoff at least next year if Brett retires this year. If Brett does not retire he better win us a dam Superbowl then. cause if he doesn't the packer fans are going to be fuc king mad.
  17. No, Brett Favre should not retire. He was the top quarterback in the NFC and he led the Packers all the way to the NFC championship game! It's not fair to say he blew it because they should have never been in that situation to begin with (2 missed field goals by the Giants, no Packers running game against the Giants, and the Packers defense looked horrible almost the entire game). And also, Aaron Rodgers has had two pretty serious injuries the last two years (broken foot last year and hamstring this year), while Favre has not sat out a game since he took over. No quarterback is going to lead their team to the playoffs if they can't be there week in and week out. Finally, Favre won't retire. He's hinted his return throughout the year. An example of this was when he threw a touchdown pass to Koren Robinson towards the end of the season he said it would be the first of many. He also said his decision this year won't take as long, and with the Packers one step away from to superbowl, I don't think he was hinting that he was decided on retirement. He didn't even cry this time, so I think he's not going anywhere. I think that Favre should stay one or two more years. In the meantime the Packers need to trade Rodgers, and draft a young quarterback with proven success and durability. Rodgers would be a great starting quarterback, but I just see him getting hurt too much. And with Favre, the Packers will still have a solid and reliable performer week in and week out. Also, no one else is better at rallying the fans, and that's what it's really about.
