- it is possible but you have allot of criteria to meet, not easy at all http://www.immi.gov.au/visitors/special-activity/405/index.htm
- It sure is. Australia is a great place to retire in. As an American, you will feel at home, in a safe environment. Should you go this route, I wish you all the Best and a long and happy retirement. It will do you well if you take up Bowling, Fishing or Camping, which are very popular with Aussie retiree's.
- I'm an Aussie sheila looking for a nice bloke. If you're solvent and not too bad looking, get yourself over here and marry me (nb. I don't actually look like my avatar!) :-D
- Yes of course you can retire to Australia. All the info you need is here: http://www.immi.gov.au/ For more direct assistance, contact your nearest Australian Embassy or Consulate: http://www.dfat.gov.au/missions/ And as a bonus, in Australia we have 'healthcare'. (it's really cool, you should try it) :-)
- I have a few American friends that have retired in Australia. Generally, they are very glad of their decision, but a word of caution. Most of them miss their family and friends and those strange things you don't notice until they are gone (food, certain TV shows etc etc). One way to feel comfortable about such a big move would be to make sure you have enough funds for trips back to the States. Good luck, it really is a big decision.
- No Americans should look elsewhere
