retirement oz

Can you convince me to stay...?

... I own a manufacturing company here in the United States. All i hear is how i'm screwing the little guy.You want more of my LIMITED profit in taxes. You want to punish me with a "sucess tax" for being good at what I do.You revile me and what I stand for(i am an evil industrialist). Why would I want to stay in the United States.I have the option to sell out and retire as a wealthy man.Problem is that when I liquidate, the jobs are also liquidated.I don't understand your reasoning. Chi Guy, Even though I'm an evil industrialist as well as a Republican (gasp!) cutting salaries is not an option.Every employee I have contributes to the sucess of my company.I will never force a pay cut down their throats.I and the rest of America have no control over the costs associated with overhead. We do however, have a limited amount of control over taxes, through our vote.May not seem like much but every now and again we can effect change to our nations fiscal policy. What the American people have got to understand that you do not hinder the economic engine of this nation. We of corporate America are paying the wages to Americans. If corporate America reaches a point of non-sustainability,then the nation as a whole will suffer.

  1. look out for #1, you wont find help from the gov.
  2. You could sell your business as an operational one rather than scrapping it.
  3. You have been spending too much time talking to Democrats. make friends with a few successful republicans.
  4. Ignore the noise, and keep doing what you're doing - providing good jobs for Americans. Just because the folks whose opinions you quote are loudest doesn't mean the majority of people agree. American's aren't signing up for a class war, or Socialism.
  5. Disagree. You are comparing apples to grape fruit. You are basically blaming taxes for your woes. What if you could cut salaries and overhead by a third? If gas, housing, medical care, and the lot were not two and three times what they used to be, you could do so. There are many factors involved yet neoconservatives view tax cuts as the end all, be all to all financial issues. What if steel were not imported and still produced in the USA? What if Bush and Rice did not lie and claim drugs from Canada would be unsafe for US consumers? What if oil was not $100 per barrel ever since Bush came to power? What if the US Dollar still had value? As these things occur "tax cuts" is all the right seem to believe to be the answer. If not for the $1.2 TRILLION dollar Iraq debacle, maybe we could have split it amongst American families versus giving it all to Haliburton, Raytheon, Lockheed, and Blackwater. edit: Agreed! ==> My point is that you can NOT cut salaries due to the cost of living. If the cost of living were less people would not require as much to live. If people COULD get drugs from Canada and pay what they used to pay for gas and if steel workers still made a living and so forth, people could have the same quality of life with less wages. THUS, in my opinion, it is the cost of living that is the issue, moreso than the taxes.
  6. sry but you CANT stay... no one deserves to be treated like that, your probly doing great there so you can probly start a new and better buissness
  7. You should sell it and invest into global markets.. Your employees should go to college because manufacturing jobs in the US are old news. We are becoming the ruling class of the world. The Chinese make our products, the Indians answer our phones.. Our place is to tell them what to do and administrate operations.
  8. I don't want to punish you, I hope you stay.
  9. Success comes with hard work. So the little guy never had a chance ..so he feels underprivileged..Retire and take it easy..enjoy your wealth and good health..as you can't take it with you.
  10. what are you telling us for? tell the government. tell your superiors. if nothing happens, then maybe consider selling out.
  11. And when you leave the industry, the profit opportunity opens up for someone else. It's not like demand goes away just because your special self isn't the one producing that portion of supply any longer. So quit yer cryin' over what bad names you think people are calling you and sell already.
  12. You're not screwing the little guy. The government is screwing the little guy. Since the days of LBJ (and likely 50 yrs prior), the US government (read: politicians) has acted only in the interests of multinational corporations, foreign lobbyists, and the international banking cartel. They don't give a rat's patoot about We The People. They don't act in our best interests. As of recently (maybe longer), they don't even have to win our votes. They just have to make it look like it could be likely that they won. Have you seen the recount in New Hampshire's primary? It's a joke. So now it's official, We The People don't even get to choose who represents us anymore. And they're not even hiding this blatant fact anymore! Best of luck to you. You've provided a living wage to dozens or hundreds of people in your endeavors, and hopefully made a nice nest-egg for yourself. You don't owe the little guy anything. You're welcome to donate if you choose, but do it carefully.
  13. I think if the taxes go up to where you are not making a profit, you should shut down, sell everything off and just retire.
  14. Just don't vote for Hillary. She would take all of your profits. She told Exxon-Mobile precisely that. Now you can't say you weren't warned.
  15. Amos, I'm going to tell you what you already know. It mostly depends on who you are and what motivates you. If it were only about money, you would have already sold. Do you enjoy your work? do you like your customers? it sounds like there is a good mutual relationship with the employees. have you made your job as flexible and comfortable as practical? can you allocate? how do you see yourself without the business this time next year?day by day what would you do? the decision is in those things.liberals&whiners are non factors
  16. I won't try! Since I don't know if you built your company or it was given to you...........don't you owe a little loyalty to the country that gave you the opportunity to build it? Just wondering how loyal you are to your employees?Do you give DECENT yearly raises? Or are you one of the evil industrialists who give their employees a 25 cent raise when the whim strikes you? You act like all the manufacturing employers are good stand up people!Just as you seem to want to forget that the salaries of the managers are also a part of the profits! I'd bet each of your managers gets an automatic % pay raise every year including YOU!
  17. I`m not american but I have to say that I couldn`t care less about industrialists, entrepreneurs & shit. You pay tax according to ability ok. Flat tax is a slap in the face of the labourclass.
