Moving overseas with dogs help?

We may be moving overseas by the end of the year and we have 3 dogs. I heard you have to board them for so long till they can come and live with you, is this true? Our dogs will FREAK can someone give me an exp. of how this all works? Thanks!

  1. Well, it really depends on which country you are moving to, but many have similar requirements. If you don't follow the specific requirements, most countries (and Hawaii) require a lengthy quarantine (about 6 months). Now, you need to check on the requirements for each country, but some common requirements include a microchip, recent Rabies vaccination, Rabies titer test, and treatment for parasites. You may also contact your travel agent and/or airlines for more info. Sometimes they will be more familiar with stuff like that.

  4. Some countries do require a certain quarantine time. Consult with your Vet, they will be able to help you obtain all the proper documentation as well as make sure you have all the necessary things done according to that countries policies. They may have you quarantine them in your home, or put certain restrictions on them. They will also need updated shots and will have to be dewormed and have flea medication applied. You will have to find out the countries exact procedures and time line as to what has to be done when.
