  1. Sorry The Philippines does not give citizenship to people who are pangit Salamat To the negative comments. Please note my answer was meant to be humorous. For some odd reason you must think I know what the asker looks like, I don't He or she is probably not pangit and if he/she is I really doubt that the Philippine gov't is going to use that to base their decision on giving citizen to them. Also I do not like the answer from the person ridiculing all the Filippnos immigrating to the US. Most of them send money or packages back to the Philippines which is as good for the Philippines if not better than an American deciding to emigrate there. Also note that most retiree health plans (assuming your premiums continue to be paid) will cover health expenses in another country. Not sure about soc. security. What you might consider instead is to get a second home in the Philippines.,About 3,000,000 pesos or $75,000 USD will get you a beautiful home in the Philippnes, Live there for six months and then in the US for six months.
  2. You may have to get a Philippine visa and get married in the Philippines.
  3. You don't have to leave the Philippines for 2 or 3 weeks each year. You just have to leave for a day. Just go to HK , Thailand, or Singapore for a weekend. Its very cheap air fare from the Philippines to those places.
  4. Please visit the URL below ( Philippine Retirement Authority ) http://www.pra.gov.ph/main/why_retire?page=1 for information. Have a nice day !
  5. wow! many Filipinos are dying to go to US and perhaps become a us citizen, and here you are wanting to be a filipino citizen!! congrats to you, you appreciate the beauty of the philippines unlike other bunch of people!
  6. i'm also a natural born US citizen living here in manila. what me and my family did is just register at the immigration. get an Alien Certificate of Registration, but, now, they call it the "i-card". then, we just pay the annual fee at the immigration, it think it only costs less then P350. we're still a US citizen, and we can legally stay here without having to leave once a year.
  7. You have to live in the Philippines for 5 years to apply for citizenship. First you have to have a visa. The SSRV Visa (retirement visa) requires a $10,000 deposit in a Philippine bank if your over 50. The tourist visa can now be extended up to two years and you have to leave on the 24th month. You can come back the next day and start the counter all over again. The other option is to marry a Philippine Citizen and you would be eligable for the 13A (spousal visa). With either the SSRV or the 13a you would never have to leave the Philippines. Personally I see no benefit to gaining citizenship. I do not need to own a gun, I don't care about politics so I don't want to vote and I don't need to own property for a house. Besides all that is in my Philippine wifes name anyway. As a foreigner you can own a condo unit and with an SSRV you can own up to 1,000 sqm of residential property. As of now those are the rules.
  8. johndoe3..ur so mean..the asker is asking nicely.u shud responce in a ryt attitude..dnt u have breeding!?
  9. you got to be omang
  10. are you sure you want to give up the citizenship that almost every Filipino will fight to have. hmmmmpp. think a million times. you can have dual citizenship. hmmmppp. being a retiree, your US citizenship will offer a lot of benefits especially your medical benefits. my aunt gave up her US citizenship, went back to Phils to retire. she was diagnosed few months ago with breast cancer and she can hardly pay her hospital bills in the Phils for chemo treatment and medicines. hmmmppp. do your homework and make a research before you decide. hmmmppp.
